So supershanks what was your exact problem?
The issue was a deterioration over a day or so from a fairly stable setting (2hr Orthos stable) to a virtually unbootable wreck. Have been troubleshooting on & off this last week.
Tried install on single hd instead of raid, starting with known stable settings (stock, 9x300 & 9x334), t6he same symtoms always recurred, only a cmos clear (battery removed) would fix it. Bios defaults weren't always loading correctly , Kb lock ups in bios + Artifacts (bottom right )
which i put down to corrupt cmos.

I put a waterblock on mine and not heard a peep out of it since
    Yea that makes sense

this is 1 of the features i love on this mobo OC Profile have created a small fat partition & a folder for each bios. what impressed me was that u can't load a profile created in another bios. Had something similar on the dfi lanparty but the profiles could be loaded by another bios giving rise to potential problems. Have cleared my old files out on the basis there may be som corruption in them, from the old mobo.
I find it really useful as u can have a very stable tested profile for 24/7 running & other more ambitious settings.

Not sure what other asus boards have this ??

In the hexus review it says that SATA 2 is not supported but yet on the scan website it says it does????

I was going to buy this mobo but i may go with the Asus P5W DH Deluxe as it can handle EPP memory.

Is there really going to be much difference between these boards?

No no. The 2 SATA2 ports possible from the Jmicron chip aren't used - the six from the southbridge are all SATA2.

The only thing thats on the jmicron is ide single slot which supports 2x ide i just use it 4 cd/dvds.

Asus P5W DH Deluxe as it can handle EPP memory.
Thought it was only nvidia chipsetrs that use it, epp memory will run on any board the epp data will be just ignored.

Oh i thought the system would just reject the RAM if it was EPP. Can someone confirm this? Maybe i will go with the Commando then?

With the heatpipes yes it did. The only thing is it was the worst thermalright cooler i've ever had. have had the xp-90c & xp-120 previously & they were quality. The ultra looks great but the zalman 9500 i'm now using(must change siggy sorry ) is running around 16c cooler. According to all the revies the zalman isn't as good. Go figure think i must have got 1 with a concave heatsink. Other issue if your going intel is the 4pin pwm mobo fan header. if u connect a 3pin it just runs at full speed. Zalman & artic cooling tend to have compatable products.

On the Commando if u like the ultra type you might consider the Noctua NH-120F
    luck

My Commando is running rock solid @ 3g (simply raised FSB to 300)... I am just too busy with other 'stuff' - DIY, building computers for others, DIY, family stuff, DIY, taking my daighter for her driving test, DIY etc... and hopefully I will get to cheat a bit and lift a bunch of successful settings from you boys - Chris must be well advanced by now?
