    Re: World of Tanks

Nope, you're not the only one. I played the free premium weekend thing they did for the Golden Joystick, and was losing 3/4 battles. Statistically, even if I just sat there and did nothing, I should get better odds. Pretty sure it matches me with idiots. For example, I remember one match in my PzIV with tier III-V, so pretty good start. About half way through the match the enemy had started to capture our base, so I went back to protect it, whilst the others just ignored it. Managed to hold off 4 tanks at the base (resetting their capture) for a minute or so, until their heavy came and destroyed me. The rest of the team did buggar all; didn't come back and help me or even rush to captures their base. Seem more concerned trying to get the 2 TD's in the town...

    Re: World of Tanks

I've found it difficult with the USA american tanks. Just upgraded from the T1 to the M6 and amd still struggling to actually get shots that penetrate the KV-1S and other T6 tanks. In the T1, I ended up going down the gold ammo route just so I could upgrade and am now into the grind to get the 90mm on the M6.

The ISU152 is more fun but that does really depend on the map and team you are with. I have gotten over 6k of damage with it but more of the time, I am struggling against T9-10 and always seem to get hit first - I guess because they know the damage the BL-10 can do.

At the moment, my garage consists of an M6, ISU152, Obj212 and a Matilda so I have enough to go round in battles.

    Re: World of Tanks

Finally got the VK2801 to elite, and I must say that as long as you scout, it's a fantastic tank. Never was the axiom more true: Don't wade in like a heavy when you've got less armour than an easter egg.

Think I chose wrong on the T6 VK3001H, terrible tank at stock. May as well charge into battle naked! Still, unlocked the Panther now and the x5 weekend has certainly helped get the upgrades in there.

Fave tank is still the KV-1 though.

they are going to move the VK28 to tier 6 and nerf it. (-10km/h, less armour). With the 105 and gold its a killer; people are posting 3k xp games.Enjoy it while you can.

    boooo....

The only time I use gold for ammo was when I accidentally did it on a Wespe. Didn't notice for 3 weeks!

Let's see if the patch makes it to the live servers.

well gave it a shot, seems rather two dimensional to me . I've played planetside 2 and I think that without infantry tank combat seems very dull.

So for me, there is no grind in WoT, just time mucking about with the same tank for a little while

    Regarding VK2801 "rebalance"

Last night I played 4 games. Trying to scout (advancing, ducking and diving, running away alot etc) I died in all battles, lasting 2-5 minutes in each. 2 of the battle still saw me matched against tier 10's, in which medium tanks overtake the VK28. Even in a T6 battle, the VK28 was pretty much useless, although this could be more a representation of my tanking skills than the tank itself.

All in all, I can't wait for the new german light tanks so I can escape from the VK28

The new tier 5 UK TD is meant to be a little OP. Wasn't so impressed fighting one though.

The VK28 still has gold derp. If you're playing with the 75mm you should get a chaffee instead; the guns better and should be similar now the top speeds are almost the same.

    Re: World of Tanks

Have too many tanks now to invest in a new tree. The VK28 is still playable (even without gold ammo) but it took me to last night to actually survive a game. Whilst I'm seeing more lower tier games than before, the majority still have T8/9/10 tanks in. Just hoping the xp for the exit light tank isn't going to be obscene.

    Re: World of Tanks

I've been playing this game for a month or so now and I am really enjoying it. I've got two tier 4 tanks and working my way up to tier 5. What are your preferred methods of buying gold? Has anyone tried the vouchers from the sellers on ebay or do you go via the wot website?

    Re: World of Tanks

The preferred method of getting gold is ESL and tournaments then clan wars which are all free!

I wouldn't trust most of the ebay sellers as far as I know there are only few ways to buy gold. You need a new account to use an invite code. If you are tier 4 it may not be such a bad idea to start again and get a months premium. These can be found for free form alot of people. I might have one kicking around.

    o Official website
o boxed retail versions (2.5k and an invite code. Also get a micro maus). i think this is the most common but seems out of stock everywhere.
o the Nvidia deal when buy a new GPU. 7.5k and one month free premium.
