    Re: World of Tanks

Got back on the wagon tonight. Have to agree that the gun on the A-32 is too slow. However, it is good at generating money and, at the cost of gold, XP.

    Re: World of Tanks

I've left mine on accelerated training, after being in a couple of sane battles with it near the top, it's decent enough.
And very useful for gaining silver to buy those tier 2 and 3 tanks

Currently I've only bought a month of premium account with my gold, not spent any on converting xp or silver
tier 2-4 tanks are more about grinding silver than xp.
5+ is more about grinding xp than silver
and (from what I've read) 8+ is grinding xp but being careful not to lose more credits to repairs and ammo costs than battle reward.

    Re: World of Tanks

I started on this again last night...I've been in the closed beta programme. I have to say that I was a little dismayed to find that I'd lost everything. I fully understand that I was participating in a beta programme, so it is to be expected, and ultimately fair that everyone starts on a level playing field at game launch. Still, that was a lot of graft...and starting again is too painful. I played a few games in the MS-1 and the others, but got hammered very quickly. I've forgotten how to play with the basic tanks!
I have no incentive now to put the effort in to build the tanks up to be honest.

    Re: World of Tanks

I'm starting to get annoyed by invisible tanks again, and even more annoyed at some people's reluctance to see how f'in ridiculous it is. Last night I was firing at a tank that was travelling in the open about 50m away from me, I got it down to 7% in 3 shots then suddenly it disappeared. There was no bushes or rocks to hide behind, it didn't drop behind a hill, it was clear, open line of site, and it then fired twice at me whilst remaining invisible and killed me (I only had like 20hp left).

Yes, I understand that War Gaming have designed the game to include "stealth" but come on, these are HUGE chunks of metal that make lots of noise and fire BIG guns. How the hell can they hide out in the open???

IMO, TD's should be able to hide whilst using camo AND being parked in a bush, but no other tank should be able to. And since TD's can have that advantage, make their armour weak, and once spotted they remain visible until they find another bush to hide in.

I really don't get how everyone can be fine with the way it currently works, because it promotes camping and sitting at your base waiting for people to attack, which makes the game very, very slow paced and boring.

    Re: World of Tanks

I've created up a new Hexus channel

one of the key thing is don't close it after creating it, just minimize it, esp when exiting the game.
If the creator closes the channel it's gone, if you don't close it it will still be there even if you exit.

    Re: World of Tanks

Had a much better night last night, got in to some really good battles. Am now up to the T-28 (tier 4 USSR medium) through normal playing and using a premium tier 4 and 5 for making good credits and free exp.

The A-32 premium that I got with the light pre-order is pretty nice at tier 4, but it's pretty similar to my A-20, also a tier 4 light, that I now have at elite status. So once my A-32 doesn't make me more money than my normal tanks, I think I will sell it. The other premium I have is the RAM-II which is just awesome, it's a tier 5 American medium, and it can even take a couple of shots from a tier 5/6 heavy, as well as deal reasonable damage to them and one/two shot other mediums. Get loads of exp and credits from it too, but it was costly at 1750 gold!

I'll try and join the Hexus channel tonight, but really, come in the KIA public channel and say hi, they might even let you on TS. Nice to have a bit of banter in the background.

1 Luchs but no top tier gun! No fancy tanks though; I'm on budget edition.

Exceed my download limit for the month already so will have to team up next month.

    AllenP79, member of KIA.

My current tanks are KV (tier 5 heavy), SU-5 (tier 4 SPG) and A-20 (tier 4 light).

Also have the premium tanks PzKpfw 38H735 (f) (tier 2 light) and Ram-II (tier 5 medium). Both are amazing exp earners!

    Re: World of Tanks

I'm working on my Luchs now but man does it suck at first, so need the engine and track upgrades.

Managed to grind my way to the Pz IV, while the Pz III definately grew on me, I just kept on being up against far higher tier tanks that I could do little against, I so wish crits and tracking actually counted toward damage xp because up against a T1 heavy, KV, SU-100 and such all I'd get "we've scored a critical hit" or "that one bounced"

Playing the SU-76, which I'm enjoying hard to say on SU-76 vs Marder2 which I prefer
but not looking forward to the SU-85A which is basically the same but have badly limited gun movement.

Also giving the Russian artillery a try, just using the first one atm, compaired to the Wespe, its range is far shorter, only 20 shots, it fires far faster and is less obstructed.
Not played it much, artillery has fewer upgrades but does need a lot more xp to unlock the next tier.
