The non-purchasable items that can be found through exploration of the PU are what I am looking forward to trying to find.

Keep in mind that they servers were being rebooted every 30 minutes initially and I believe are now being rebooted every hour, so what you might have though was a crash might be the reboots. Devs needed the reboot to give a temporary fix for a problem, they are working on it and hope to have the reboot frequency greatly reduced/removed real soon.

I was just on another forum and saw someone link to this. It looks like confirmation that Squadron 42 will be playable offline, for those who were wondering

I'm looking forward to this game but am very fearful that it will both
    1. Not live up to the hype and be a massive bomb as we have seen with many titles in the past two years.
    2. All the money donated to it and then it just collapses upon itself and nothing comes out of it.

So excited for this game. Finally had a chance to check out the video last night having been away for the weekend. No load screens on such a large map and proper cooperative ship control. Can't wait for new module releases due in the next few months!

Yeh there's been a few new videos lately which woke me up to the game again (been trying to ignore it as much as possible as the waiting just kills me). I really hate to say it, but don't get your hopes up for module releases as soon as you might expect them. But I suppose you already know that if you've been following the game for a while.. However long stuff takes, progress is definitely showing and I think this game has a lot of potential

Yes. I follow most of the info that comes out (Reverse the verse, across the reverse etc). They really do their best to provide something worth reading/watching most weeks. While it looks like a lot has to progress the very fact that this worked live shows most of the big technical challenges are slowly being solved however I'm happy to keep waiting as I'd rather a decent game be released than another rushed job like battlefield and its dodgy netcode.

Definitely. I'm not complaining about the wait, at all. It's looking like it's gonna be well worth it

The more I see, the more disappointed I am...

The environment looks AMAZING. Seriously, it looks great.
The list of gameplay elements being slated and now slowly included sounds awesome. How they're being done is another matter and it's looking very much the opposite of my personal tastes...

The biggest bit that gets me is the jumpy, stuttery, drunk-as-a-skunk movement in FPS view and that demo vid just made me feel ill. In TPS view for the last Hangar module I bothered playing, my character was running lop-sided (seriously, looked like he was dodging imaginary flies or something, every time his left foot went down), but it was still preferable to what looked like cut scenes and QTEs filmed with a camera on a broken SteadiCam.

I am a human. My brain compensates for the body's movement and jumpy vision.
Why then does RSI insist on swaying my view around and spinning me about (especially during the QTE when entering/exiting my ship) as if I am a flippin' BOBBLE-HEAD?????!!!!!!!!

And they want me to watch this through an Oculus Rift, as well, yeah??!!
Great. Motion sickness *with* Hi-Def 3D head tracking...

Thats all being reworked as part of the FPS work (I'll try and dig a link out if you're bothered). Expect this to be much better as soon as FPS drops in the new animations and head bobs. Its the joy of Alpha - they try things and somethings work and stay and some don't. VR is something they are aware of and regular take note of as its mentioned in the star citizen reddit quite a lot and they regularly comment there. To be honest - just wait for it to be finished and then decide if its the game for you.
