... and within hours of my last post, it sounds like Frontier disabled long distance passenger rewards to stop people doing this.

Oh well, I shouldn't be surprised.

Bit behind here but you'd need to add some black lights that light up black to indicate you've pressed the button.

Slightly annoying with this one that apparently FD previously said that the game was working as intended. Makes sense to me, you have to really want the money to do a run that tedious.

The common thread with a lot of these make credits fast schemes seems to be the re-logging from solo to open to get a new instance with new random missions. Perhaps they should just fix that so you get the same missions on relog. Procedural mission choices instead of random perhaps.

Or limit the number of missions you can have, maybe?
That's easy enough to regulate via the Pilots Federation - Just state that there's a galaxy-wide work shortage and the number of active contracts per CMDR are being controlled in order to prevent various civil problems..... or better yet, simply limit the total value of work you can take on at any one time, else your insurance is invalid... and then heavily fine anyone flying without valid ship insurance?

    Re: Elite : Dangerous

I think the missions will return, but probably at a reduced payout. Hopefully it will still be worth the effort. FD have stated that they have only temporarily removed it, which they balance things.
Granted, there was a lot of money to be made though. I had a few 150 mill ish runs in my Beluga, and with board hopping and travel, it was not much more than an hour to do that.

There is a limit, something like 20.

When grinding for rep to get my Corvette, I was stacking missions for data delivery as well as the odd goods delivery. Data doesn't require hold space, you can stack as many as you want.

Edit: I was earning a fair amount doing those missions, pity I was spending it on donation missions nearly as fast

Yep, but by stacking them I was cycling them quite fast.

If you only need tens of millions then community goals are pretty good.

Absolutely! I survived for a very long time without any of the get rich quick methods that have arisen recently. It was CG's and Trading for me for a good couple of years, and I did alright in the game with the money I made doing that. It's only recently where I found the Passenger mission money really useful to beef up my Anaconda for the Thargoid threat.

I've an original copy of Acornsoft Elite on a 5 1/4 inch floppy disk from 1984. Not sure what to do with it. Probably unreadable due to its age. Any suggestions?

I would print out an A4 graphic from the game and frame it with the floppy mounted in the middle and stick it on the wall. But then we have framed maps on the wall here from game worlds like Erathia and Azeroth.

Base game and Horizons now on sale for £8 each in case anyone fancies giving the game a go.

Note: Best to buy both so you're fully up to date with content so cost is £16, normal price is £40.

Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated.

May take up the option to play Elite sometime in the future, whether it's the newer or retro version.

Heh, last time I played Elite it was an old good ZX Spectrum... )
Is it worth to try for a player obsessed with space exploration (but not PvP) theme? I mean, from a not-extremely-hardcore-simulator point of view.
