    How's the Warrior going?

I haven't levelled one since vanilla WoW, and back then they were quite difficult to level due to being quite reliant on gear (as were Rogues too). It's probably changed a bit now, what with the game being made much easier for newcomers.

I haven't done a lot in WoW lately, been trying to get into APB (given up for now, seriously unbalanced and buggy still) and back into EVE (not doing a lot until mining skills increase or I find a good 0.0 corp as most of Ekchu have moved to pastures new, could join them I suppose ).

Looking forward to the expansion though, might see if I can get back into raiding after my personal circumstances change in Sept and try to down the LK before Cata.

Re: Who's still playing WoW then?

I echo the sentiments on the GS stuff. Was finding it next to impossible to get into stuff as an enhanced sham with a GS of 5.2K, so I ended up adding dual spec healing and managed to farm badges much easier. Not done anything exept the first boss in ICC 25 Man.

Go my priest to 80 and just run daily and weekly badge quests on him.

Hunter is 71 and for some reason im not really enjoying him, i think the cata changes for hunter look good.

DK is 75 atm, been tanking with him. The shift to Blood being the tank spec i havent got to grips with yet. Atm I am finding it difficult holding aggro. Been told it will get easier a little later on.

Started to lvl a paladin, at 17 atm, actually enjoying it. Blizzard have made the lower lvls much easier and the new quest structures are much nicer. My old gripe is that the Pala trainer is right on the other end of silvermoon!

Would prefer to be playing eve again but WoW is a little more pickup and play friendly. I cba to login to eve for an hour to find that the corp is on an op 30 gazzilion jumps away from me. that and my limited time and requirement to field tech 2 ships with tech 2 fitting on sucide ops is slowly draining my isk reserves, (I knew I should have taken the Nyx my corpmate was giving me!)

I resubbed a few months ago, dusted off the old mage, got to 80 all that jazz. Then I rolled a priest. Damn. Wish I'd rolled a healer from the start, so much more fun than DPS.

Looking forward to these changes actually. Will probably get class changes, talent changes, emblem/honour changes, and UI updates in this patch along with the major pre-Cataclysm events (like the week or two prior to all other releases), leaving the Azeroth changes, new zones, new dungeons/raids etc for Cataclysm itself.

And how disappointing are they? Takes like 15 minutes to complete and gives nothing, just a tiny bit of story. Hopefully the pre-Cataclym events will be much grander, like the Azeroth invasion before TBC.

Re: Who's still playing WoW then?

am in the beta actually - the ramp to lvl 85 is alot , dont try to do what i did in LK - go started raiding in my T6/swp gear 0 you need lvl 83+ gear just to quest or instance in twilight highlands tbh (and then its hard work) aggro in throne of tides is an issue as well - im doing icc type damage unbuffed

not sure about a big pre cata event - you have the awakening of `mr dragon` and thats the cataclysm , and yes i know the gnome and troll events are short (dont go into the tunnel at gnomer mkay ) but they need the story to explain about why the gnomes are no longer based in IF and need a new starting area for them

Lets hope it stays like that and they make it a bit more of a challenge. If the instances in Cata are the same as in WotLK, I will quit. AoE grind fests are boring and I won't pay to play a boring game. Bring back crowd control, bring back wipefests on raid bosses, bring back the challenge! Am gonna steer clear of the PTR and Beta, I wanna see Cata in all it's glory (new GPU time, I think).

Well I'm looking at coming back in Cataclysm as well

Hoping to get a spot in the beta though to try it.

    Still no formal date?

Nah, I doubt it will be announced until BlizzCon (Oct 22/33) now.

Really? Interesting, in 5 years i've never tried healing
!!! the one character that's been tempting me for a little while is a druid, never tried one, but dual specced an awesome hlr and a DPS master as It appears to me. However I just dont have the time to 1-80 another char. Just dinged my rogue and may get my hunter from 67 to 80 then at least I have a choice of DK, Rogue or Hunter (See a little DPS theme deveoping!!!!)

Re: Who's still playing WoW then?

I've just re-rolled a healer too, its good fun really..levelling her through the dungeon finder too which means i can stay as a holy priest from the get go.

My main is a tank and thats still my preference, but healing is a good alternative..shes at 46 at the moment so a way to go yet! My main is progressing through ICC at the moment, aiming for a LK kill on 10 + 25 before the expansion hits, but as i'm pugging everything its a pain in the backside..getting there though

I've tried levelling 2 DPS toons but its just so incredibly dull and boring..pew pew is fun for a few levels but then it just gets dull and repetitive, you don't have to react and think the same was as a tank or healer. I'm keeping on with them (mage + loladin) in the hope that it gets more fun at level 80..but focus will be on my tank and healer I think, thats where my heart is!

I've been running the brewfest boss with my tank, but bit frustrating that the drops are so poor, all ilevel 200 stuff apart from that single 266 boe and the mounts. I've got the kodo mount now so really just after the other one..I wish blizz had at least included 1 264 trinket to give us something to aim for after the mounts drop.

I Felt the same with my DK, don't really enjoy the style of play, however I enjoy my rogue, and am just starting to kit him out, so the brewfest dagger would be very nice!!!!

I guess your own character reflects your playstyle, perhaps I prefer a simpler life when i'm playing

Re: Who's still playing WoW then?

Yeah you right it does - I did start a rogue a few weeks ago but I made the mistake of starting him on the alliance side..all my other toons are Horde and I didn't enjoy it.

I could see it getting interesting at higher levels, and liked the idea of pickpockets + lock picking, but didn't make it past level 15 with him yet. I may reroll a new rogue back on horder when cata is out, see how I get on..

Only class i'm yet to try out is the Hunter, partly as i've not met a good one yet on my server hehe..the number of idiot hunters puts me off..although the idea of having a pet does attract me somewhat

I'm with you on that one, been tanking since day 1, first with a Warrior, then with a Druid, then with a Paladin and now with a DK (although I have better DPS gear, I get into instances instantly as a tank).

I'm still unsure which chars I'll take to 85 in Cataclysm, have too many to chose from.

I love tanking, so my main will be either a Druid, a DK, a Paladin or a Warrior. I don't have an 80 Warrior so I think that one is out, I have the best gear on my Druid and really love the ability to change forms and do all roles (tank, heal, melee dps, ranged dps). DK is great fun for DPS, but I don't love tanking with it like I do with my Druid. Did ICC10 up to Sindragosa with my DK last week, lead on DPS by far and was not the best geared DPS in the raid.

However, despite loving my Druid, I really love Elemental Shaman and Hunters as well, although Hunters can get a little boring sometimes, so I think I'll roll a new Goblin hunter in Cata along with a new Goblin Shaman as I can't wait to try the new areas and am not gonna pay for any transfers (except my Druid maybe, she's a Night Elf and I want her on Horde).
