I've picked up another 50 shots to shoot on a project I'm working on with Jen, my muse - a 2016 Calendar!

    The opposite of negative is...?

Think slide film. It uses a different chemical process to develop, and gives you true colours rather than the inverted colours of a negative film.

My first time time at a gig. A full frame DSLR and 24-70 lens is still on my wish list, so much detail is lost at hi iso

What did you lose from not shooting full frame?

    Re: Photo-a-day

Depends if you are DOF limited as well as light limited. If so, going to a larger sensor gives you nothing - any decrease in noise at least offset by having to use a narrower f/stop and correspondingly higher ISO for the same exposure. If not, buy faster glass. Only if faster glass isn't available and you aren't DOF limited does full frame make (economic) sense.

just the fact that my shots wont be as noisy. Im not keen on using too much of a shallow dof. On my wider shots i had the dummer in the background and its very out of focus. Aside from my FF coment what do you guys think of the shot, any room for improvement?

OK so going FF won't help then if you can't accept a shallower dof. Noise won't be any less because you'll have to have bumped the ISO an equivalent amount to counteract the narrower f/stop.

I like the second shot more - framing is better IMHO and generally sharper apart from moving hand which is acceptable to me. First shot is really good around the face, but guitar and hands look a little less sharp, probably due to movement, and the background isn't so great.
