The British way of life...please help!!!

Okay, i'm not sure which forum to put this request in so i decided on this one as the best fit.

I'm off to visit a close friend in the United Arab Emirates in a couple of weeks. She's never been to London, let alone the UK. I want to take a few trinkets and souvenirs for her that represent the UK and London in particular. So, I need ideas urgently as time is of the essence to gather a few things together that represent 'Britishness'. The only things I can think of are:

1. A London Tube map
2. An A-Z
3. A tin of Harrods biscuits
4. A British newspaper (not the trashy ones as they won't be allowed in)

That's a pretty dire start I guess! I need stuff that is legal (!), small and stuff that is affordable! Any ideas?

Is that the English (Londoner) way of life or the British way of life you are trying to represent? if so you might want to include something from the other countries that make up the UK/GB.
Irn Bru would be my suggestion for Scotland, I can't speak for Wales.
