    DPD, useless

Well my order arrived eventually, the delivery man dropped off (literally) my 2 2TB hard drives from the order to get a signature (as in opened the office door in the middle of a meeting without knocking to stick his head round the door, casually dropped the package on a desk and asked for a signature, if it wasn't that he interrupted an important meeting with clients I would have happily told him where to go)

Just had a chance to inspect the PC case box (not opening it until I get home tomorrow) and it's covered in damage marks from careless movement in transit including what looks like it hit the corner of something.

I have to say I'm really not impressed, especially as it took a further 2 days to get the hard drives I should have gotten with the first delivery of the case.

I'm not even going to start on how the packaging on the hard drives/RAM reeked of cigarette smoke as I'm pretty annoyed right now (the entire business centre, car park etc are all no smoking)

Well I just had a chance to inspect the case and I was right, it is damaged

A piece of plastic has snapped off next to the case door hinge on the case itself and both of the 'push open' fan covers don't open when pushed and because of the plastic that has come off the case the bottom fan door the hinge is broken

Really not impressed at all with the delivery service provided

I will with a photo of the crack David.

Is it possible to arrange a different courier to do an exchange? DPD have stopped delivering to Newcastle pretty much and the service I have received from them has been appalling (I'd like to be able to build the machine inside the case by Christmas given I placed the order on the 11th (and still need to test the hard drives and RAM that were dropped when the courier entered the office), DPD's 5 day backlog (and general work shy attitude) in Newcastle totally rules out even getting a replacement before the New Year)

edit: forgot to add the photo before I packed it but the enquiry reference is OLQ885106

    Re: DPD, useless

Erm I just got an email about the RMA claim....

Further to your email I can confirm that in order for us to process a damaged-upon-arrival claim, we require notification of the damage in writing. We only have seven days to process a claim against city link, so the most efficient method is to reply directly to this e-mail detailing the following information:

Might be worth updating your email templates

I've updated them on that - but if you can get the other details over as soon as you can, they'll look into the issue for you.

BTW: It would be better if you can reply via the messages, rather than the forum - as they don't have access to this.

I am just finishing off the email to Liz, I'll get the photos done while I have time on my lunch

Thanks for the heads up on replying direct David.

    Re: DPD, useless

Got the case collected on the 4th and got the replacement yesterday, need to give it a once over when I get home tomorrow

Many thanks to Liz who was able to help reschedule the collection due to DPD being iffy with times and dates

Just got home.... this one is quite badly damaged, all the connections on the front door are sheared off

Will be taking photos when I get my camera out and have a chance to check it over fully

    Re: DPD, useless

What case is it out of interest, could be that the whole batch is the issue rather than the courier

    It's a Fractal R3 Define
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/fract...r-case-w-o-psu

First one had plastic damaged on the door and the fan filter doors were broken

This one the entire door is broken (both the door and the mount) and all the plastic pegs to attach the mount to the case are broken on both parts of the case

    Re: DPD, useless

Thanks for that, does seem to be the cold spell could be the issue
http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread....-like-the-cold (this was the info I was given)

(apologies for posting a rival retailer but it is relevant info)

Not so peeved off with DPD this time round, delivery guy was polite and didn't treat my package like he was in Primark discarding clothes
