Thumbs up Impressed with DPD courier!

Just placed an order with Scan last week for a couple of parts - noticed that my tracking number said DPD and not City Link as normal so initially I was a bit worried. Despite a few issues with CityLink over the years, they normally get things delivered and I knew roughly when to expect them (normally 10-11am).

However, the DPD service was completely painless and it's great that they seem to be employing some technology to give us something all couriers should have a rough idea of anyway. I really appreciated the DPD email confirming a one hour delivery slot, 9:30-10:30am, and they came about 9:45 - so great service! I've always hated having to wait in or ask someone else to be about, so getting a slot like that really improves the service 10x in my opinion.

I hope DPD is going well, it's another great reason for me to purchase from Scan! I suppose it's also worth saying that the Scan service was faultness with next day delivery of my two parts

    +1 for DPD service.

Loved the e-mail and text message for the 1 hour slot and it made it in about 15 minutes of the start of the delivery window.

Agreed. In fact I now like to get my stuff from the shops that use DPD, just for the delivery estimate.

    Re: Impressed with DPD courier!

Completely agree, DPD is fantastic, the 1 hour timeslot really helps and makes it possible to nip out of work for an hour to go and wait for the parcel. Also suprised me on my last order when I had the email reminder as well.

    Re: Impressed with DPD courier!

Woke up after a late one and checked the time slot online and it was 11-12, was like NOOO I JUST WOKE UP FFS . Was getting changed and bang he comes at 11:10 or something so atleast they come as quick as citylink so the change is good for me as i have to agree the time slot is awesome and the driver seemed to be good haha.

DPD list the Delivery slot SMS as sent... Did you receive an e-mail with the time slot?

I got the same as red dragon on a recent delivery. Not complain though as ability to change delivery date is still useful. Its nice to see a delivery company actually using modern technology!

    Hmm,

Looking at the tracking now, it seems they aren't even bothering bringing it today?

29 Sep 2010 14:36 Central Services Redelivery request made, for 30 Sep 2010 (Before Noon)
Why did they send me the email stating:

Your order from Scan Computers will be delivered 29 September by DPD. Can you please ensure that someone will be available to sign for the parcel at:
If they weren't going to bother bringing it? It's not good when you ask to some hang around for you. I can't promise any one being present to accept the delivery after 11am the next two days, and I need the order by Saturday really.

We are looking into why the delivery isn't scheduled for today, I will update the thread once we have a response from DPD.

Another +1 from me brilliant service

I was told delivery would be between 12.42 and 1.42 the delivery came at 12.50 and the drive apologised for being 10 mins late!

Let this be the beginning of the downfall of city link!
