Had no PC for 5 weeks tomorrow ... After spending a few thousand pounds with a company I thought I would get better treatment than this.

So after 5 weeks you decide it can't be replaced and I will only get £36 when it will cost me, according to your website, £61.76+£7.99p&p to replace it with another power supply.
If you had told me this 5 weeks ago I would have went to a shop and got one the same day.
What? How does you getting £36 after 5 weeks work out of interest
Just for claritys sake the 5 weeks is the time since the RMA was filed. I had had the power supply for 11 months at this point.
Since I paid double the £30+VAT they are offering me that means they only expected the power supply to last 22 months?
Thinking about it they are probably going off the 2 year warranty which isn't exactly fair. If I get a 3 year warranty on a car and it just stops working through no fault of my own after 35 months I don't expect to be paid off with 1/36th of the original price.

Why not? They were expecting to replace the broken one with another power supply so why not replace it with my money?
Don't Scan do the "We will replace with a suitable alternative" thing like most other companies do?
I would rather take that than what they are offering. I couldn't replace it with a suitable alternative for £36.
It's not even out of it's warranty period! How is that reasonable? Also they would have provided a replacement if one was available. But they are saying I can't even have my money back to replace it.
If I wanted to lease or rent a power supply I would have done so. I didn't.
This reasonable use out of it thing is absolute sheeeet if you ask me.
If for arguments sake i purchased a 650w PSU and it failed after 1 year of a 2 year warranty and they offered me £35 how am i expected to replace the 650w PSU for that price. The best you can get for that is the Corsair 430w.
If I buy a 650w with a 2 year warranty I expect a 650w for the bare minimum of 2 years. Not for 1 year and a 430w for the second year. Nor would I expect that I have rented it for a year then get half my money back when it goes tits up.
Surely if the OP has a 2 year warranty he should get what he paid for, for at least that period. i.e. his should be replaced with an equivalant or he should be given credit to purchase an equivalent.
The only implementation of the bogus system highlighted by disturbedguy should be with the warranty. This is to say that on his replacement he should only get his original time left. Justified because he has had use out of it. To apply that in any other way is such bad service.
