I done an advanced search in the psu section, then closed that tab, then done an advanced motherboard search, although it brought up psu options...
Found another bug
IE7, WinXP (SP2) fully patched
When in a product category, the check boxes next to the sub category headings are too low, almost down to the line below. Mousover the heading and the check box belonging to it jumps back to the right place.
Found a possible bug:
during checout when entering card details
on the CVV digits, question mark. (why is the question mark there as it doesn't link to a popup like i would expect it to, or has the hyperlink just been missed off?)
ive noticed one problem with the site which is still there, basically when you sort by price list, then click on a product, when you move back to the product list they are all unsorted again!
any fixes on that?
Also when you sort by price (or anything) only the results on that page are sorted, not the entire search list. If your search returns 25 items and you see 10 of them on a page, sorting by price will only sort the 10 you see.
Bug that is annoying me - trying to get to a previously saved system on 3xs, it demands I login. Fine, I click on the link and login. Go back to 3xs, still not letting me at my saved system. Tried cleaning cache, cookies, etc, not making any difference. Tried using a different browser (IE7; my primary browser is FF3), still the same issue.
On the order history page if you have alot of orders page after page its sometimes hard to search for a past order you are looking for.
Could you not put the price of the order in the chart so you can narrow your search down?
Don't really want to open a new thread, so I'm just gonna ask in here. Is there anyway you can "save" your basket?
Guys at scan, you are pros, and deal with customers in good manner - hence you have lost of loyal customers. I'm one of them. But this problem with website look like amateur job ! Don't tell that you could not check if customer can see detailed invoices etc, track RMA , empty spaces on website. It just does not look like finished product, but some small online shop. yes it has nice colours, looks attractive, but I think you forgot about functionality here. I'm sure you will fix all problems, but in my opinion nothing like this should ever happened
New site will take a bit of getting used to plus some more time to iron out the bugs.

Hey there, i'm from computer forums such as OCN, OC Forums, i heavily promote people to buy from SCAN, its often cheap and the new site layout is awesome, it had a few teething problems on the first day but i really like the new style
I have one thing to say about SCAN though: More RAM Choice Please!
You guys do a brilliant job - customer service is also excellent
Nice one guys
I rather like Danelec & SuperTalent memory - but Corsair is my number one favourite :-)
Just a few comments on the website which I've been browsing for a few days. There are quite a few positive aspects to take from the new design, so thumbs up there!
Just wanted to add a few comments regarding usability on the new design. Please view these as constructive... a moan would have been much shorter.
1. The list of product catagories at the top of the page. It is just way too big for people like myself using old 15" monitors.
a. Looks like space has been allocated for 5 columns, but only 4 used. Suggest using all 5 columns.
b. Would ideally love +/- icons so we can resize the font used (store the info in cookies) to shrink it.
c. Perhaps under ALL on the left hand side, we could have Components, Peripherals, X, Y, etc. which would reduce the number of catagotries on view.
2. The subcatagories below this.
a. Again, way too big. On hard drive pages, with tabs open in Firefox, I only see as far down as the top half of the View Selected and View All buttons. I get NO product info until I hit my page down key. On Intel motherboards, I don't even get the buttons.
b. On the subject of hard drives, PLEASE can you divide up the 400GB - 1TB catagory.
3. This really concerns 1 & 2.
a. Getting a full listing of (eg) CPUs used to take 1 click. It now takes 2, plus the time it takes to move the mouse down top the View All button.
b. Getting up a sub-catagory list of products used to take 1 click with the old hover system to bring up subcatagory lists. It now takes 3: click (eg) CPU, check subcatagory, click View Selected. This is a couple of steps back in useability terms.
4. Product lists: the description column is too narrow. Items now take up twice the vertical space they used to. To free up some space, you could try the following.
a. Change the stock column. All you need is a tick/cross. The LN code could go under the picture or buy button.
b. The two prices could go in a single column. If you sort by price ex VAT, you also sort by price inc VAT. You already have them colour coded to distinguish between the two. OR Just show one or the other, depending on a preference in the user's account.
c. The 'level' column, whatever level means here. the Hexus 'X', and information 'i' could go above/below the buy and stars, freeing up space.
d. As I didn't see it commented on when I was reading through: BIG THUMBS UP for the large product view. I can see this being useful for things like cases, coolers, etc. where it helps to see the product a bit bigger.
5. Links in Catagory List and Features/Benefits tabs, possibly elsewhere need 'precise' clicking.
a. Useability could be improved if links are padded. This will give you an idea what I mean:

Please view this as constructive. In the past I've always used Scan's site to do my window shopping, then ended up buying more often than not from Scan. At the moment, I find it easier to choose products on 'other' sites.
Regards,
Ant.
