Re: On behalf of several people's experiences with Scan.

I would have to say that as a relatively new customer to Scan, this thread would only strenthen my view that Scan are genuinely a good company to deal with. The openness of dealing with this on a forum is refreshing, especially when i'm used to dealing with 2 competitors in particular. On both companies forums if you were to mention having a minor grievence with the company, you would most likely be banned!

Way to go Scan, i will be making my next order on Tuesday!

    Dex!

Fair enough comments of these are your experiences.

I think that you have it VERY WRONG though to assume the 'spokesman' role for others.

If they cannot be bothered to register and voice their own opinions then the problems either:
    a). cannot be that troublesome
b). you are smoke screening to enhance your own opinions

Re: On behalf of several people's experiences with Scan.

As far as I'm concerned, being able to post about customer service on a forum is a big bonus, a few shops used to ban people for posting shop issues. Free delivery for posting on said forum is another bonus, and the relatively easy warranty service (albeit rather scary emails) is another plus point. Scan has been among my top retailers for a while now and for the issues I had with accidentally paying for scansure and their continuing use of citylink, that hasn't changed.

That is brutal. I think if you went with Scansure on that one you'll still get refused!

Not that I'm laughing at someone else's misfortune, but comon! Cutting heatpipes is an error I'm used to reading about on Newegg reviews.

I'll like to echo the comments of sammorris above though. This thread would've been an insta-lock in many other places.

Holy crap, is this the board that was refused under warranty? I'm hardly surprised with something like that!

    Exactly.
It makes me wonder what was expected.

Board is mutilated and expects something to be done to rectify it.

Believe it or not a customer once cut his desktop memory to size so it would fit the SODIMM slots in his laptop.

You can't make this stuff up

I notice how the OP has become conspiciously absent since Scan posted the pictures of the mobo - what a coincidence!

    I agree.

I suspect it was possibly one of the same forums as you refer to but I saw someone with an issue today relating to a pre overclocked bundle getting told that his bundle was possibly unstable due to using a surge protector or having substandard internal wiring in his house!

Needless to say when such comments were questioned the thread soon vanished.

Re: On behalf of several people's experiences with Scan.

Despite Scan offering great customer service and lightening-speed delivery; I have had a shaky experience with them at best. I hope it's just me but I've had a few bad products from them, and bad experiences be it delivery (with their previous warehouse and system) and their RMA process past and present.

I can only say, that although Scan are still a good company with their heart in the right place, other companies have caught up. Ebuyer were to be avoided little more than 2 years ago; but they have changed dramatically, quick delivery and a superb RMA system - they're a very different beast.

Unfortunately for me and a friend, the problem (with his new graphics card) has caused a few problems:
