I can only remember a few of them but the CPU was at about 35 degrees. Also this happens from cold boot so heat surely cannot be an issue.

All voltages were good I thought according to uGuru, read from uGuru in the BIOS.

both 12v rails were at 12.25v

Last know good makes no differnece as this appears as early as the windows build screens. Also I dont have any other compatable components but have checked with my firends almost identical setup and all those tests pointed at the GFX card being fault.

Unfortunately I am at work at the moment so I cannot give the exact details.

The thing is that all symptoms point at the GFX card but this is the second one that has been tested by Scan as NFF (the screen corruption at post the inability to install drivers and the fact that I had swapped it with my friends and the problem went away on my PC but appeared on his). In all honesty I am loosing faith in the AB9 altogether.

Well if this makes any difference i am currently sharing your pain!!

i have just spent £722 on a "door stop", including the AB9 Pro; xfx 7950 gt xt, antec 900; 580W HiperPower Type-R Modular Blue; 160 Gb Western Digital; 1Gb (2X512Mb) Corsair Value Select; Dell 20" wide; all coupled togeather with an e6600....

My problems are near on identical: Turn on seems to be a lottery between dodgy splash screen or more often than not nothing at all --- blank screen --- completely blank! then after a while i get the windows blue screen stop message!

So from reading other posts recomending to flash the bios, I finally managed to start up in safe mode, create a boot disk, throw the 1.6 bios from my usb key, turn on and get it to boot to floppy so i can do the flash... so i flash the bios and.... turns on and loads windows "oooh" i think... "ive got away with it!"

Windows loads and for a while its fine... i even get a chance to do the main driver installs.... and i get to do some successful restarts.... now im getting confident... then ..... ARRRRGGGGGGGG!!!!!

Do a shut down, start it back up and ............BLANK SCREEN FOLLOWED BY WINDOWS ERROR!!!!

So i am geting really pee'd off with this spent thurs and friday and sat morning 6:30 - now, trying to sort this and ive had enough, when 10:30 comes im phoning scan and getting a refund, i will send it all back, under the "goods not fit for the purpose" banner.

Even worse i am setting up a charity LAN gaming event in two weeks, and as the organiser it will be ridiculous if i cant play!

Come on Scan, help us sort this out.

    Thanks,

    Andy

Sorry to hear of your problems as well Andy, I was beginning to think I was the only one.

Originally I had the XFX 7950GT XT as well and was told be a scan customer services technician that there areknown issues with XFX 7950's and AB9 Pro's. So I put this to Abit representatives on the hexus board. They are going to do some tests but as yet have not heard of these incompatabilities.

Well Andy lets hope they sort this out soon, for both of us.

Last known good has no effect on me, the only way I can actually boot up the PC is to remove the nVidia drivers altogether. As soon as I install any drivers (standard windows ones included) the PC blue screens with nv4_disp.dll. This continues until i use safe mode to remove the drivers.

I found an aparent fix for the nv4 infinate loop but it made no difference for me.

    Right....

After numerous tries to get this board working... i gave up!

I phoned scan on saturday, talked to a very nice chap in the technical help part, followed all his instructions.... and still got the same result as above.

I then managed to borrow a friends intel DQ965GF turned it on and..... no probs! Definately not the xfx 7950gt!

So I am phoning scan now to send the AB9 PRO back... Wish me luck!

    Thnaks,

    Andy

    Thanks, you too

BTW ... I have also sent a PM to Phillip so that they can understand that both of us are having the same trouble... thought it might help.

    Thanks,

    Andy

Whats the main use of the system?

for example the P5b-VM is with onboard graphics (which you wont require as you have dedicated cards).

Mainly a gaming machine, not exactly hardcore but Battlefield series mainly. Onboard GFX not required.
