Took him nearly 11 months to find the comments and respond though.

Must admit I'd never heard of the company until now, will add them to my list of sites to peruse since people seem to have had positive experiences with them.

    Edit: hang on though....

Re: Anyone bought from Ginger6 ?

I have bought seven or eight systems for them for work and this one at home. The only problems I have had have been a faulty PSU which they let me replace withy the one they sent out to me and a motherboard fault which they fixed. The service is great and the prices good. I speced out thius system and found thet they could provide it as cheaply as I could build it so I bought from them. I always get bare systems ie no system on as we have licences at work and I got Win 7 from Technet a month or two before release fo this one at home. The systems bought range from basic systems for offices to mid range gaming units for image processing and analysis with high end ( £6K plus) software. All systems have so far done well and are as good as others I have purchased form other suppliers. The internals are well put together and lika I have said the support is good so I will keep using them.

    do not buy from GINGER6.

I did biggest mistake ever. £700 pounds for an sli games pc, that will not play a game for more than ten mins without crashing.

returned twice both times they claimed it was fixed, but of course it wasnt. i bought the pc dec 2009 in the 6 months i have had it, it has been back with ginger bollocks for 7 weeks, it is not fixed. they are refusing to refund.

i am currently taking this matter up with trading standard and a solicitor, as they think they can get away with this.

    BEWARE GINGER6

You will end up with a pile of sh#t

Re: Anyone bought from Ginger6 ?

The above post is not 100% factual, so I feel there is a need to reply with the facts so far....

The PC was purchased by our customer late December 2009. The actual graphics cards that the machine was advertised with had become end of life and no longer available on the market. They were substituted with the newer equivalent, but we messed up as the equivalant cards did not work in SLI mode. We the PC back from our customer and received it back on the 5th January, the graphics cards were replaced with a better card and we despatched the system back to our customer on the 14th January.

We did not hear from the customer again until the end of May, when he stated that themachine was crashing every 10-15 mins within games, so we arranged for the machine to collected and brought back to our workshop for testing. It was crashing when we received it back, so we started testing it. It passed all our stress testing tests, which was a little unusual for a machine crashing so often, we tried swapping out the components in the machine, but it did not resolve it. We then started to look at what was installed..we uninstalled a few programs, and updated the version of physX. This seemed to do the trick. We upgraded the power supply just in case as we had had suspicions it may have been on its limit handling the 2 graphics cards at full blast.

We had the machine for nearly 3 weeks, mainly because we wanted to test it as much as possible to make sure it was not a hardware issue, and we did not want it coming back again. The final week we had it, it did not crash once, no matter what we threw at it.

We despatched it back out to our customer on the 21st June. It was not until the 7th July that he got back in contact with us (the day of his posting above).

We believe the problem is software related, and are trying to work with our customer to remedy the situation, but he seems reluctant to listen to anything we say. Infact he has done nothing but threaten us with legal action and posting that we are crap across every internet PC forum he can find.

Whenever our customers have a problem, we will do our utmost to rectify that problem. In order to do so we do need our customers to work with us.

One thing we wont do though, is bow down to threats and bullying.....

you get a lot of one post wonders on here, no one listens to them as we all know they wasted a day searching google for you and posting abuse on every forum that mentions you.
just format his machine and be done with

if he cocks it up again and you have to format to fix it you then get to charge him for collection and return, it wont happen again !

Re: Anyone bought from Ginger6 ?

+1, I know I don't pay much attention to them. And as GoNz0 said it means less from a one-poster, if it was a regular poster who seems knowledgeable complaining of crashing I'd pay it some attention but it's all too common for people to load their PC with all kinds of crapware, get it full of malware and then blame the hardware/manufacturer for it being slow/crashing. It's the same with customer product reviews on some websites, people leaving one star because they couldn't install it or didn't bother checking compatibility before ordering it...

Re: Anyone bought from Ginger6 ?

I too bought from ginger6 in the past. It left a very sour taste in my mouth, as my pc was inherently faulty. It looked, ok but would not function correctly, I returned it to ginger6 who seemed to have problems finding the problem, to the point where they denied there was a fault.

They seem to be a cowboy outfit, who offer no aftersales or technical support.

Cougar extreme computers in nottingham found the problem in under an hour and give excellent service and support, so i would highly recommend these.

Smart move posting your number up. With that level of intelligence I have no doubt that you're telling the truth about ginger6.

Fine, if your happy doing that, that's your prerogative. I'd be tempted to remove it though if I were you - there are other ways to get your point across that don't involve sticking up personal details which could be abused.

Yeah. There's a vendetta of hate being exhibited around the forums by dogg_77. They've been told not to spam now I think.

Re: Anyone bought from Ginger6 ?

Before you waste any money on a solicitor I would try a format and re-install of Windows if you were provided with a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium disk, and have a product key with it. As you've got nothing to lose.

This may seem daunting, but Windows installation is pretty easy. Even more so since Vista and Windows 7 improved graphical interface. You could have someone talk it over to you on the phone as given your number.

Just make sure you back up any documents and game save files first to a DVD or usb flash drive, etc. And if having difficulty locating game save files, list games here so people can tell you where they are located.

I couldn't find the system on Ginger6 website, but got specs from your posts on other Ginger6 threads.

As it uses an Asus P5N-D motherboard you can either get all the drivers from Asus website directly. Or use the links I've provided below from more recent driver releases, but direct from the chip manufacturers instead.

As for the audio driver from Realtek, it may not be needed as the Nvidia driver should include an audio component. But if you decided to de-tick audio part when installing Nvidia driver you can then use the more recent audio chip driver from Realtek. But as a word of warning downloading from Realtek is pretty slow.

    Specs and download link
Motherboard Asus P5N-D - 750i Chipset Nvidia driver link version 15.51
Onboard audio Realtek ALC883 (optional if decided to not use audio included in above Nvidia driver) Have to put a tick in box to get to download screen, and select the 40MB file called "Vista, Windows7 Driver(64bits) Driver only (Executable file)"
Graphics SLI 9600GTi Nvidia driver link version 258.96

Think that covers all the required drivers. Sure someone else will add a follow up post if I missed anything. But Nvidia motherboard drivers come in an-all-in-one pack so not likely.
