Not sure tbh; they're beyond me but works in GUIminer.

I'll try and get some stats on total shares/hour for single and dual.

Re: "Folding" for profit, not fun - Bitcoin

I'm confused by all this. I thought initially that they were paying you to do folding and then I read it is all just some pointless calculations to obtain a bitcoin 'token' which may be worth something.

It all sounds a bit like those people who made money in Second life.

But, having said that. I'm all up for a bit of speculation and risking a bit if it has a chance of making some money.

I just keeping thinking that you don't get anything for free and somewhere, Someone has to be gaining from this.

My hashrate seems pretty stable circa. 300 with my 5850 @ 800Mhz core.....my latest masterplan is to try and figure out how to leverage the Z68 chipset to use the IGP for gfx, and keep the 5850 purely for mining - this, I am thinking, will remove all the 'laggy desktop' symptoms ??

Re: "Folding" for profit, not fun - Bitcoin

My last transaction to send BTC to britcoin seems slower than usual. I have 33 confirmations already but it doesnt show on my account.

I've sent a letter to the support but the link to the support ticket doesnt work.

Did anyone else experience something similar?

What's the story with 'backing up' what you have 'mined' ? I am starting to accrue now, and - as with most electronic pfaff - am thinking about what happens if an EMP hits tomorrow ?!

make a copy of (this is WHS/XP, little different on 7 but you will find it im sure) C:\Documents and Settings\(your login)\Application Data\Bitcoin\wallet.dat its hidden so turn see hidden files on and whatnot.

and thats it, stick that on a usb stick every few days and your fine... well apart from the EMP.. better use CD-R's then

Re: "Folding" for profit, not fun - Bitcoin

funnily enough i signed up to them today, what with britcion being down for most of it. Gave my ebay acc as a reference. probably wont use them as im not keen on people (me included if i ever see reason to buy bitcoins in the future) having to do the transfers themselves - britcoins system seems a billion times easier.

A bitcoin address is unique to a wallet.dat file on someone's computer. That file may contain the keys for more than one address. Therefore the address you specify is indeed unique to your computer. If someone else had your wallet.dat. they could spend your money

I've stopped mining with my 4850 as the difficulty seems to have shot up, and .2 BTC a day now seems a shaky return on energy invested. So now I'm sat on my 3.7 bitcoins wondering when to cash them in....

you maybe earning fewer bitcoins but the price of bitcoins will increase because of the higher difficulty, I think
