Atcapollo - is there a Maplin's near you, or even some other electrical store. I just go in and ask for stuff - it's far easier and if they don't have the exact match they can help you find an alternative (depending on their competance.)

hmmmm they tend to be very unhelpful bordeline pcworld staff in my store.
and i get quite frustrated spending hours looking for components which are all mixed up so i like to get the item code before i go and then if i tell that to the bloke then he can hardly say we don't stock it!
anyway i found what i need
G75R Low Cost Metal Film 0ยท25W Resistors 75R
Kez> yeah most probably the prob was in the wiring - I rewired it with a new vga cable without dcc pin though so matters got a bit more complicated but afterall I got vga picture! I have to fiddle more with the finetuning to get it stable but I'm really exicted that it functions at all..
Has anybody succeeded in playing games on this vga mod?
I've seen in some posts that it is necessary to jump into windowed mode or something but not every D3D game will support it - for instance I could not start properly EA racing games such as F1Challenge they take over the res control (my mod is 720x576) and change the resolution to their liking ..

OK....couldn't get hold of myself a car adapter for the LCD, but I found a PCI plate adapter that feeds off your PSU and supplies different power adapater heads at 12v or 5v from Maplins....I'll see if any of the heads fit tomorrow to the LCD.
Got mine this morning... Have tested it out before taking it apart (using the composite out on my GFX card - was a bit worried when I saw they hadn't used a phono socket for the AV in but a simple phono to jack plug converter took care of that - the red one (right audio) works)... Now comes the scary bit I suppose!
Edit: The speakers are better than the ones on my laptop...

I am very interested in doing this mod. Put Im kinda confused on how to do it. Has anyone made a step-to-step guide?
I've got a PSone screen fom ages ago for my PSone but have never used it, and never will, so this is great if possible.
Sorry! Ive found it one KickassAmd.

that would be pretty cool. 2 bad it's a PCI plate. Would be easier to just have it in your case ... might be able to mount it somewhere else though.Originally Posted by Proplus
Just tried hooking it up. Eventhough it does supply 12v to the LCD, the messes up the contents of the screen....makes everything fizz about and scrolls, so I guess its not quite up to the job.Originally Posted by Frantic
After hooking the LCD up with VGA, figured out that I've missed an important point all along.....you need a GFX card which has Csync....basically either a Matrox of ATi one. Tried it with my FX5900U, no good, will try it later with my 9700pro.
Just dug out an old adapter plate from maplins with a power regulator on it - set it to 7.5 volts and found the right lead.
Didn't work and got a burnt finger for my trouble (very, very hot heatsink...) - I'l be leaving it on the sony adaptor for the moment

this thread has grown a few pages :E
This may be usefull for those testing screens, to get 5v to the dcc pin. it req. the casing to be taken off though.

The chip in the pic is a l805 which means a 5v regulator.
Also it would seem the lcd only needs 5v and the 7.5v is just the backlight. It may be possible to use a 5v psu and not use the backlight, though that may be too dark.
Also this is good becuase it means using above 7.5v will onlyt damage the CCFL and not the acctuall screen, however the CCFL gets very hot and the heat could damage the screen.
Went really well yesterday evening, not only did I burn my finger (see above) but also discovered it's next to impossible to get a GF2MX200 PCI working next to a ATI 9700 AGP (was going to go completely internal - solder the connections onto the back of the card - so I didn't want to pay out for a new card - though I might if this goes well).
Oh well - Dug around and found PCI versions of a Millenium II, Riva 128z and a Banshee - will give them a shot.

i have an epia m mobo and doing this mod via vga wont work as the onboard gfx dont support hsync or so i read somewhere else and a pci gfx card is out of the question for cost and size reasons, but it does have a tv out, what cable will be required to go from the ps1 lcd to the tv out? and will i be able to use it as my main monitor as currently i dont have one the computer is controlled remotely via realvnc.thanks
