Any news on when the A6 65w 3500 coming out? I'm waiting to build my HTPC but getting impatient
That's Llano, not Bulldozer...
apologies
Wouldn't worry about it, both are being discussed in this thread.
Release is advertised as '3rd quarter' so in the next few months probably. However, if it's just because of the lower TDP, check some reviews on the current APUs - even with the 100w TDP their power consumption is very low.
Cool I doubt there would be a massive difference. Can you undervolt/clock anyway?
I should imagine so, but unless you're keeping the CPU/GPU loaded I don't think heat/noise would be much of a problem.
If they undervolt like Athlon II / Phenom IIs (and that's a big if considering how much more complex the silicon is for an APU), then you can cut a huge chunk off the power consumption without dropping the clocks at all.
It's a shame that very few review sites look at undervolting / underclocking CPUs - everyone's obsessed with MOAR POWAR!! whereas I'd like the optimum balance of performance and efficiency. My Sempron 140's currently running unlocked to a dual core, clocked down to 2.4GHz, at 1.1v (0.25v under stock), and the whole system never draws more than 60W from the wall, irrespective of load: wprime, DVD playback, Torchlight (@1080p with everything turned on - runs like a dream ). It's got all the performance I'll ever need for an HTPC and general family PC.
Interesting, I might try that with my Athlon 5050e - any idea if the 65nm chips undervolt well?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Just noticed that Scan are sporting a range of ASUS AM3+ motherboards, using the 760G chipset: budget boards for your bulldozer Cheapest one is £40ish, which would make a great base if you need the CPU power without the extras - good budget folding rig perhaps?
I'd be wary of very cheap boards with high TDP chips - apparently some 4+1 phase MSI boards (possibly others) had problems with the 125W Thubans i.e. the VRMs would burn.

What I would like to know is, will these new FM1 boards take the bulldozer equivalent chips (with on die gpu) when they come out?
Moreover what I really want to know is will they take bulldozer chips which dont have the GPU?
I assume they wont as what is the point in AM3+ if they do.

The use of LGA by AMD next year is a rumour AFAIK.
