I've played D2 many, many, many times.... only really stopped playing last year online with my 2 friends.
So the big question is... is this going to be a subscription model?

Well finally I was hooked on D and D2 now can't wait for D3 but have sold my housing and my gaming tower is in storage so all I have is a lappy with intel graphics till I move so a realise next year is fine by me.
pretty damn coool
ill cry if its a subscription based game, even if it goes as far as hellgate with subs. They will make their money back by sales, its d3 who doesnt know about the game diablo? seriously probably the most well known game.
Got the release date off google, 1up.com, dunno if its legit or what not but its a start http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3138257
I don' think it will be subscription seeing as the other 2 wern't. Does WoW use battle.net ?
Will be interesting to see what the other classes are as they have only announced Witch Doctor (Necro replacement ?) and Barbarian so far

diablo 3 a mmo game?
Diablo is like one of the top selling PC games of all time and has sold 17 million copies...
And it's a hack and slash RPG

Yep, the gems are a nice addition again, plus i imagine runes will be in there still. No doubt someone will do a dissection video at some point! The graphics look pretty swish, it looks like an overhaul of D2 interface wise, and i think they did well not to do a Hellgate and bring it down to semi 1st person. The top down look just.. works.. The effects look good, and so dose the general environment, especially the multi-level things. It looks like they re-diablo-ised Titan Quest (might buy that until D3 comes out).
I'm not too convinced by the witchdoctor though, it sounds like just another filler class - i mean it basically sounds like "creates minions, mind control and disease" so a mesh of some of the older classes.
It looks very promising. They've kept the core elements and updated which means it's instantly not going to suck. It looks pretty polished so far, so i would imagine a release within the year - next summer at the latest.
@josh
No, it's not an MMO exactly. The multiplayer was the only (good) way to play diablo 2, since you could play it single player online and then have mates join up with you on your server. Otherwise it'll support normal single player offline mode which will be boring to be honest. So yes, internet is mandatory for a good experience with Diablo.
Im pretty sure they will include runes, they were seen in the splash pages of the diablo site in the first few days when they put the teaser images up, there are also people commenting on the new runes seen in Cains Journal on the Diablo III website
This is going to be so good...
