agreed. its really quite fun just free roaming. i'm less arsed about the main missions though. 360 controller works a treat my only gripe is selecting different powers seems needlessly fiddly and plain annoyoying in the heat of chaotic battle. Targeting system isnt quick enough to cycle through either.

she is far form the end, theres another few hours worth after that, i'm amazed how big the game is. finished it yesterday morning and fancy a blast on hard mode now its unlocked. !

try and find a hiding place on the final boss fight

if miss green is annoying you, get the hell out her way, consume a few zombies, climb a high building and drop down next to her and let the ground spikes rip until you have to leg it again.

With that Elizebeth green I found Tanks look her down real fast.

And the final boss fight? The only thing I found that worked was throwing things at the git.

    If it is

Damn, I have not stopped hearing about this game! Sounds like an unexpected gem... I'll have to try this out for the 360. I was thinking about trying the PC version but I think it would kill my computer haha.

The difficult level goes all over the place just before that Elizabeth Greene boss fight. Protecting that drill pump was a pain in the ass.

    Re: Prototype

I'm so bored with this game already, it feels so repetative now, and i'm only 8 or so hours in. I was impressed when i started playing but after spending some time with it i think it lacks depth and the story is so dull. Shame as i really wanted to enjoy this

    Re: Prototype

This game is so evil, it's funny. Got it over the weekend and haven't stopped playing it!

I don't know how far into the game I am yet, and I'm not bothered. Just having fun doing a couple of missions, free roaming and doing lots of side events to get more EP.

The control is excellent, the moves are awesome and the combo's are mental, I haven't had so much fun in a game for such a long time!

    Re: Prototype

I am playing through again with my powers from the first. I will play Fallout 3 for hours at a time. But there are still times when I play Prototype for an hour and go on a rampage. And still I am unlocking upgrades and web movies. For all out carnage it beats GTA 4. Still great in short bursts even now.

    Re: Prototype

I got this only the other day and it's been IMMENSE! Haha, it's all the things you wished you could do on GTA (in terms of carnage) but you couldn't do because your character in GTA lacks superpowers I love the way the control of the guy feels so natural, regardless of running up buildings and flipping over water towers and fly-kicking helicopters etc. Very addictive game.

The world graphics aren't all that (I think because of how the game is made and what it handles) but it doesn't matter too much as it's very fun. I much rather prefer that than epic graphics with no substance to the game!

Just completed this today. Hadn't played it ages, well not properly at least. So I sat down today and completed it.

    Pretty good game

    Re: Prototype

Am I the only one then that thinks that this is a pretty average game.

Yes, you can run up walls and glide off buildings and chop people up, but in the end it's all a little bit "meh" to me. There is a limit to the amount of times you can throw a car at the helicopter before it starts to get a little bit boring.

It's just the same old run, jump, LT, RT, over and over again with the ability to change you hands and power up a few things once you've upgraded the specs of your character.

It's like getting drunk on cheap cider. It does the same as Magners/Bulmers, but in the end you'll get a weird taste at the back of your throat.

If I'd have reviewed this it would have got around 6/10

    Re: Prototype

I'd give it 8/10. It is immensely fun - but I supose it depends on what type of gamer you are.

    Oh I play and love all sorts of stuff such as the following ;

    Various RTS games
    Tiger Woods 09 & 10 (Wii)
CS, CS Source, HL and the various addons.
Rock band and loads of DLC
Various shooters like COD4 and COD5
GTA 4 and other stuff on DLC like lost and damned.
    System Shock 2
    Old retro arcade stuff

I just can't put my finger on why I cannot get into this game.

I played it for 2-3 hours the other day and afterwards I didn't feel like I enjoyed it. Yes, the graphics and gameplay are fluid and the graphics are excellent but I didn't feel drawn into this at all.

Depends how you look at it. Casual gaming expierience I found. If I have an hour to unwind before going to work this game is a winner.

Maybe some like racing games for kicks. Still, I have yet to play another game like Prototype. Worthy of being in my collection. And the type of game I have been waiting for for a long time.

    Re: Prototype

I've been very much of a casual gamer these days rather than the frequent gamer I used to be... and I love the way I can jump in and play on this game for when I'm in the mood. The upgrades are cool, and the control is so natural that I can just use the game for stress relief I never play it for more than like 3 hours straight, but by the next day I want to play it again lol.

I wouldn't put this in the hall of greats like Gears 2, but its a plain fun mindless game that anyone can get into.
