No-one is going to release a game at the minute that won't run on XP unless they want to lose out on revenue. Which at the minute is extremely unlikely. This game will run on XP and it will run good on XP. End of story.

Vista is already nearly obsolete as microsoft has realised its a bit of a flop of an OS, Windows 7 won't be long till it is out.

how can you presume this? i have 3 games that runs crappy on XP and they are fairly popular, believe it or not, Microsoft is going to release several Service Packs for XP to transform it slowly into Vista.

I know, they might be right, just reviewed it and the game takes about 14.1 Gb so far...so yes, they might be right, and several beta testers are asking the mods why didnt they told us the minimum system requirements... and the release date for March isnt 100% sure confirmed.

    Thank you.

Companys don't come out and say a date untill they are 100% positive of achieving that date, why would they come out and confirm a date when it's not 100%.
Did you not read the link and assume it wasn't from sega?

SEGA has today announced that the highly anticipated Empire: Total War, the next iteration in the acclaimed RTS series, will be shipped to stores in North America and Canada from March 3 and will be available to buy in stores worldwide from March 4.

    And they are called?

I really start to believe that you aren't a beta tester at all. Some of the things you claim are ridiculous.

Running crappy on xp and not running at all are two different things. I said they wouldnt release a game that wasn't compatable with XP. Just cause it isnt as fast doesn't make it non-compatable.

And the reason I presume this is because they are out to make money. Cutting out a big percentage of the market by dropping XP would mean less money. In these times thats not a viable option.

Are people still taking this joker seriously?

If he is indeed a professional tester then he is remarkably ignorant of some basics.

I mean he say's he's heard lots of bad things about DX10 and XP, yeah like how perhaps XP doesn't do DX10 at all.

There is no such thing as XP with DirectX 10.

The game should be really fun though as all the Total War series. I've played everything from Rome and afterwards. Really addictive...

    Re: Empire: total War

I'm completed n00bish at the Total War games. Medieval II as the English and on easy, the Irish and the Scots are giving me such a hard time. I should have ground them into the dirt long ago!

EMPIRE will be truly amazing and even though I play ALL my games on XBOX 360 I'll definitely be getting this game!!
