So what will be the release date? I hope it March really want a new game to play.
Can't find the link lol Anyway cheers for confirming the date.
actually vista's userbase is going up in flames this begining of the year,
The game runs and requires Direct X 10, wich so far is on Vista, i dont know if will even run on XP because ive heard alot of bad things of XP with Direct X 10. and i dont know why that they just juged the minumum system requirements, surely the Bete tester's forums would have told us...
EVERY site has different release dates, this is due to CA lacking of informers, and being busy with us reporting hundreds of bugs and fixes needed to be done BEFORE the deadline.
Watch the preveiws from http://www.totalwar.com this is the only present web site that you can fully trust for now.

No-one is going to release a game at the minute that won't run on XP unless they want to lose out on revenue. Which at the minute is extremely unlikely. This game will run on XP and it will run good on XP. End of story.
Vista is already nearly obsolete as microsoft has realised its a bit of a flop of an OS, Windows 7 won't be long till it is out.

Ok, i'm going to post this again as no body seems to be reading it. But they have confirmed the date and the requirements.
http://www.videogamer.com/news/27-01-2009-10492.html
how can you presume this? i have 3 games that runs crappy on XP and they are fairly popular, believe it or not, Microsoft is going to release several Service Packs for XP to transform it slowly into Vista.
I know, they might be right, just reviewed it and the game takes about 14.1 Gb so far...so yes, they might be right, and several beta testers are asking the mods why didnt they told us the minimum system requirements... and the release date for March isnt 100% sure confirmed.
Thank you.
Companys don't come out and say a date untill they are 100% positive of achieving that date, why would they come out and confirm a date when it's not 100%.
Did you not read the link and assume it wasn't from sega?
SEGA has today announced that the highly anticipated Empire: Total War, the next iteration in the acclaimed RTS series, will be shipped to stores in North America and Canada from March 3 and will be available to buy in stores worldwide from March 4.
And they are called?how can you presume this? i have 3 games that runs crappy on XP and they are fairly popular, believe it or not, Microsoft is going to release several Service Packs for XP to transform it slowly into Vista.
I really start to believe that you aren't a beta tester at all. Some of the things you claim are ridiculous.
Running crappy on xp and not running at all are two different things. I said they wouldnt release a game that wasn't compatable with XP. Just cause it isnt as fast doesn't make it non-compatable.
And the reason I presume this is because they are out to make money. Cutting out a big percentage of the market by dropping XP would mean less money. In these times thats not a viable option.

"The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorise, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save – the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour – your capital. The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being." Karl Marx
There is no such thing as XP with DirectX 10.
The game should be really fun though as all the Total War series. I've played everything from Rome and afterwards. Really addictive...
I'm completed n00bish at the Total War games. Medieval II as the English and on easy, the Irish and the Scots are giving me such a hard time. I should have ground them into the dirt long ago!
EMPIRE will be truly amazing and even though I play ALL my games on XBOX 360 I'll definitely be getting this game!!
The Irish aren't a faction.
