Is anyone getting a 'strafing' issue? In the last few games I've played all of a sudden it like to let me do nothing but strafe rightwards, i cant find any way to replicate this and its not the keyboard as its working fine with everything else

It could be your joy stick. If it is, it's quite simply to fix. Just go to controls and delete the joystick stuff in the "on foot" tab.

I just got this myself on the iGi server and then all of a sudden the game crashed to desktop and I got some Java console crash error!!!!

You can't link it through steam to download it from steam from memory. Closest you will get will be to install it manually and then just add a shortcut to steams games list so you can get the steam overlay.

EA say they're working on a solution for the ping problem, but I can see an incoming patch or 2 on the horizon..

As soon as you install the game it grabs two patches before it even starts the game xD

Try following someone on the friends list into a server than 'favourite' it in your server history so you can just go and play on the decent ones.

ea's plasma backend cannot cope and isnt expected to until monday, very shoddy imho, there begging us to turn off servers and stop installing new ones.

I sent you and everyone else in the BC2 name thread a friend request. Said it had gone through to all so I guess we can add that to the list of none working features in BC2 xD

well that feckin great, d/l the game and in the process trigger stm that i forgot about. and when it boots up i can't even login to my account - let alone browse the servers.
