Tried searching for iGi server and I get no server found?

Well I preordered my Ltd. copy from Steam, pre-downloaded it and loaded it up today. First thing I did was entered my promo code for 6 unlocks - the game accceptedthe code and..no unlcked weapons or gadgets. So I came out of the game. went back it, relogged and that.....still no unlocks. Oh. So anyway, I went to the multiplayer server browser, and the list of server take up after an *age*, but none of the servers show a ping! Hmm. I entered 'UK' into the right field, and hit search. (BF2 brought up all the server with 'UK' in the server name) and...not working. Then I got sent back to the desktop.

This is not good. At all. Did the devs learn nothing from the open beta? EA say they're working on a solution for the ping problem, but I can see an incoming patch or 2 on the horizon..

Got my (PS3) copy this afternoon, Gamestation only had 'Limited Edition' copies on the shelvesd for all formats, had to ask for the cheaper version with no 'bonus' stuff that I'll never use.
EDIT: Didn't realise I still get the extra maps but no extra guns 'n stuff, oh well, will still never use it!

Only the 2nd/3rd time ever I've bought a game on day of release I think!

Was going out tomorrow afternoon for drinkies, how lucky that's been cancelled!

Hi guys. here is an interesting question i would like to ask you fella's with the game.

What authentication method did you chose apon installing the game the first time and why?

How does it work when you add the cd key into your steam account?

Are you still limited to only 10 installs when added to your steam account?

If you dont add the cd key into steam, from my understanding their are two choices.

1. activate the game online allowing you to play it without a dvd in the drive but you only have 10 installs for it.

2. activate the game via SecuRom, have unlimited times you can install it but you must have teh dvd in the drive to play the game.

What does Steam fall under? 1? 2? or neither?

disc version - no limits and i dont foresee me changing the disc out for anything, really.

I went with the online one to get shot of the DVD in the drive. Reading it though people say its 10 installs but I am sure when I read it, it said you can install it on 10 computers, which is different. Not sure what it said now. Although it does say that if you reinstall the game you will get the option again.

Either way, if I need to rebuild the gaming PC any time soon the next time I run it, I can just change to the disc option.

I was assuming it was going to check via different formats of Windows and i tend to format on my accord quite regularly never mind the times when you have to do it for a reason :/

Is anyone getting a 'strafing' issue? In the last few games I've played all of a sudden it like to let me do nothing but strafe rightwards, i cant find any way to replicate this and its not the keyboard as its working fine with everything else
