Nope, the beta was multiplayer only, the demo is campaign and skirmish... to get multiplayer you'll have to buy ther game

from a MP point of view, you can see what it will be like (more or less) in skirmish mode...

I will have to disagree m8, TA was nothing like the same game in Skirmish mode, and doubt SC will be.

Hope they release a MP demo version soon. Sick of buying games that just get thrown in the draw.

It would be really nice if they let you tweak the AI parameters for artificial opponents in skirmish - setting up things like build efficiency, technology preference etc etc.

Fair enough, I get what you are saying: I'm not trying to say that skirmish compares to MP, but that you can get the basic idea of dynamics from skirmish to see if you like it

You only get the full MP experience when there are loads of players online and a good league or you have a big lan party.. will probably only happen a month or so after release so they might send out an MP demo then, who knows.

Anyway, from what I have see of the campaign and skirmishs and the beta MP replays that's enough to make me want to get the game, that's all I'm sayin

I thought that the AI tries to behave a bit human e.g. when you've let the AI build up a big force and then you go a bit too far with a probing attack, the AI sends waves of units after you. Which is essentially a stupid emotional response.
Easy to parry, until an experimental unit joins the invasion - if you're not ready for it then you're deaded.

That behavior is fairly standard for RTS AI - even the original command and conquer (and probably even dune 2) had that. It's a 'counter attack' on the assumption that having tried an attack on the enemy your own resources are depleted.

    Thanks for your input m8.

Guess I can wait till retail goes a little more mainstream and see what ppl think of the online service.

    If the findings at
    http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=617
correspond with the final game, then no one is going to be happy playing many unit populated high detail multiplayer.
Anyone fancy a game of TA ?

Really loking forward to getting this sometime this week from Play.Com. After waiting all these years since they first said they were making a new TA to now, seems like a life time

Two things from the demo, a) the interface takes 30% of the screen up, even at a widesceen 1900 x 1200 and b) fraps give me a FPS of 15 - so a standard format might help, but is a case of not enough CPU power (X2 4200) or is my X1800 XT not powerful enough?
This hot girl came over to myspace last night, she twittered my yahoo till I
googled all over her facebook. Ask Jeeves...
