I would agree with that tbh ... that is one of our strong points, they are both pretty quick and can cross a ball , but they did it about once or twice, the service to the front men were poor all day, but this always happens 1st games as no one wants to get beat, just look at Portugal and Angola last night .. and in my opinion any win in the world cup is a good win ..

Do you remember the Rugby wolrd Cup, England were far from Great, but they did a no frills job and it worked ...

I think the second set of games will be a lot more open and viewer friendly ..

well just watched possibly the best world cup match so far - Italy v Ghana to be fair i felt that Ghana deserved something more out of the game they played really well at times just couldnt seem to finish when it mattered - the Italians were being the usual over dramatic tarts they usually are

great result for Australia as well, will be kicking off tomorrow though our boss transferred out Tim Cahill and Pirlo from our dream team squad for C. Ronaldo and Riquelme

I agree - would be more than happy if England won 1-0 in the next 6 games

Can't wait for the T&T match now. Am absolutely certain it will be a cracker - barring the ref breaking up play and dishing out cards like its Christmas.

Czech's look good. Probably the best out of European teams so far.

On England - I really hope they don't risk Rooney in next two games as they are certain to go through with just a win needed.

I got back from Frankfurt late Sunday night. On the whole for the first game it wasnt too bad. I personally thought the first half was great, the second half however was'nt lol. The referee was a joke from the outset of the second half, there was a few choice words being thrown by the supporters anyway.

We got three points and thats all that matters, especially given the Trinidad and Sweden result.........

Another bonus was having Jason Leonard staying in the same hotel as me and then also finding out he was sitting in front of me at the match.....star struck I was, lol!

No Sensei, i'm not kicking the mats to waste time, they have parted and I don't want to injure myself!

    Who....

Sorry I had to google his name to find out who he was and what he was famous for.

(cue David Ross to call me a blasphemer and punt me around the forum)

    Anyway - back to football

    Today, there are a few 'interesting' matches planned ;

    14:00 - Group G - Match #14
    South Korea vs. Togo

    17:00 - Group G - Match #13
    France vs. Switzerland

    20:00 - Group F - Match #11
    Brazil vs. Croatia

Can the guys from Togo improve on their already fairly good start and beat the Korean's ?

All those matches are on BBC as well, so decent commentary and no ad breaks.

How about France then? Hardly a good performance by them. That Ribery is very overrated, he hogged the ball all the time, i think he was trying to score and get glory....new Zidane? Not a chance based on that. Henry didnt get the support he needed as they said in the commentary, but still he wasn't up to the standard he is for Arsenal.

Then we come to Brazil...what a dissapointment that was. Everyone was talking as though they were gods before the game..what did Mark Lawrenson say at the beginning when they got a corner? Something like "do the Brazilians even take corners" as though they are above football. To be fair Croatia looked a good side but still the Brazilians were not as good as i expected, especially Ronaldo.

So lets hope for better performances in the next games (or maybe not...if people like Brazil and France went out, that'd mean more chance of England winning!)

Boredy boredy bored of sodding long range goals now. Every sodding goal seems to be a hit and hope strike from the edge of the penalty area. If they were something like this, then alright but they're not.

    ^ Yep agree

I honestly think there is something wrong with the manufacture of the balls this year.. About 80% of long range shots, are row zed-ders!

England now I think are outclassed, we have these teams against us-

    Argentina

    Spain

    Portugal

    Mexico

    Ivory Coast

    Brazil

    France

None of which I think we can beat, espically with svens tatics.
