The prevailing opinion amongst the English experts is that Sven’s the t**t that got England knocked out for his retarded tactics, and off screen their all glad to see the back off him, so am I quite frankly. England will be a different side with McLaren in charge. I’m not saying they will win things but they will perform much better under him.
As for Rooney the ref wasn't going to do anything when he stood on that Portugal player. He's been sent off for pushing Ronaldo. Ronaldo plays with Rooney week in week out for man u, he knows how to wind him up and what will trigger a negative reaction from him, thats why he run in and complained, he knew he'd get a reaction from rooney. After he was sent off Ronaldo winked at someone as if to say job done. What he did to rooney was highly unprofessional, especially when their club team mates. He's a little sh*t, I'm a utd supporter and i would be glad if he goes to real Madrid, I’ve never liked him.
I suspect that much of the negative talk will be towards the way Sven has run things and not for Rooney’s sending off.
I just hope that Brazil or France give Portugal a right tonking in the semis, because their not that good a side in reality.

Also WTF what was up with the the commentary team WANTING penalties then going on to list how many times we've been knocked out by them? Idiots. Ah well - atleast it's only a game I guess.

This what i think
1. England played much better then portugal with 10 men
2. ronaldo stired things up, cries like a b***h and is a dirty player.
3. rooney deserved a yellow at most
4. sven is a boring s.o.b, macarlen is a much better man for the job
5. figo should get a bafta
Looks like Ronaldo will be out of a job pretty soon then...
Agreed we played better when we had 10 men, but at least we didnt lose in normal time, its only pens and everyone knows pens are just luck, so im not too disheartened...plus we most likely would have been knocked out against Brazil or France anyway. I just expected us to lose, so then if (and when) we did, i wouldn't be as disappointed.
Still leaves a bad taste in your mouth

My other half drove past our local just after the match to be re - routed due to 3 riot vans and 2 ambulances blocking the road, maybe i'm getting old but isn't it just a game
