WHat can i say...haha @ Sweden and Hooray to Trinidad and Tobago! Well if Sweden can't beat a 10 man T&T, im pretty confident we can win them and go through (even though we could go through just by winning T&T)

    So congrats to T&T!

Sweden - Trinidad & Tobago is such a good match, shame no goals. I really doubt the ability of England forwards to break through T&T defense :|

very true mate they did look strong in defence... HOWEVER... they totally played their hearts out today and they looked completely knackered at the end of the day.

Personally, i dont think they'll be able to last another 90mins of defending when we play them on thursday.

Did anyone else think that Peter Crouch had another poor match today?? tbh he's 6ft7, he shouldnt be getting out jumped and pushed off the ball when going for a header.

I dunno I felt that T&T were great up close but I reckon that Crouch on the corners and Owen on a run would scupper them.

Lets just hope gerrard, j cole, lampard and beckham have their long range boots on this thursday - the long range shots were terrible today, i think lampard was the only one who put it on target, gerrard hit the back row of the stands a few times

Agree totally, he was pretty useless, i was really annoyed he kept letting himself be pushed off the ball....of course many of the times he tried that biased ref gave a foul to Paraguay

Playing with 5 across the middle and Crouch on his own up front will get us nowhere. Owen and Crouch in a 4-4-2 until Rooney is fit looks to be the only way we can play and look dangerous.

If we beat T&T we are through whatever happens against Sweden, good thing too, we were crap second half. Hope Rooney is back for Germany \ Poland in the second round.

tbh i really couldnt understand why he didnt just do a straight swap for Owen with Walcott.

Crouch seemed to be playing a completely different game to the rest of the team, when owen went off he barely touched the ball, he's not an out right striker, he'd rather arse about with the midfielders laying people off....this tactic dosent win world cups. At least Walcott would be trying to make a point to everyone.

EDIT: it made me laugh to see the BBC "pundits" talking so highly of Jermaine Defoe, even Beckham was quoted saying he's one of the best strikers in Europe, so why the hell did Crouch go?

i never understand the mentality of Sven - he always has the habit of picking a dodgy striker.

It took us long enough to shake off Emile Heskey, now were stuck with Peter Crouch - i think Liverpool must pay the FA to put them with the team

did anyone else find the camera angles at the beginning of the england match a bit odd to start with? I mean, it was such a wide angle, it was almost impossible to see the ball. Then we kept getting black outs every now again where the audio would continue.

was all a bit shoddy looking to me.

I was thinking the same thing! I thought the blackouts were just my tv....and at one period of the game the surround sound stopped working. Not sure if it was the BBC's fault, or if they just broadcast what the Germans film.
