I think Rollo is actually stuck in time groundhog day style... destined to repeat the same days forum posts until he eventually understands the basic priciples we are tying to express.

To be fair, I am sure most people would be singing the praises of a company that keeps giving them free stuff. I am sure in his eyes, they can't do much wrong and it clouds your judgement to the point where you will believe any piece of propaganda or FUD.

    lol @ n%.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    I disagree dangel.

Actually the "politics" of PhysX have made it the most prevalent GPU accelerated physics related add on in the world.

NVIDIA is doing all they can to advance physics effects in gaming: they bought a physics oriented company (Agiea), they adapted Agiea's tech to their GPUs, they lend developers their programmers and QA staff, and in geneal, invest a lot in physics effects so their customers can have them.

I'd say if anyone is making the tech "more obscure", it's ATi and Intel, who aren't helping devs bring the technology to market for their customers like NVIDIA is.

We can't assume developers would even want NVIDIA to open up the drivers to ATi cards- if the mix of hardware were to cause their games to crash, the resulting bad publicity might hurt their current and future sales.

How will NVIDIA, or their customers, be "hurt" if another company steps in with an open form of physics effects? The NVIDIA cards will still run all the "open" games, plus the PhysX games, so it will still be an advantage to have a NVIDIA card.

So are off topic personal attacks how you get the 5 star Hexus rating here?

Couldn't think of any response to what I said I guess, must be frustrating for you.

Dark Void is the latest PhysX games I'm playing. As the video shows, it's pretty obvious that PhysX enhances the gaming experience significantly.

You can discount PhysX all you like, but the cloth, cobwebs, destructable environments, smoke, particles, debris, weather, etc. all make for a more immersive environment and move gaming beyond the daysof yore where shooting a rocket into a box at best left a dark stain on the box, and cobwebs were rigid pictures of cobwebs with the clipping on the picture turned off. (so you walk through them like a ghost passing through walls)
is it just me or does anyone else miss the point in that vid?

i mean yeah theres more smoke and bits flying around, but is it really worth paying for more expnsive cards for that?

And still no one can respond to any of my points, so in mature and community minded fashion, you call names like kids on a schoolyard.

Fact: While NVIDIA may be technically making PhysX "more obscure" by limiting it to their hardware, they are also proliferating GPU accelerated PhysX far more than any other firm has to date. This is irrefutable as no other company has GPU accelerate physics.

While it's nice ATi owners want NVIDIAto spend the money to QA their hardware, consider that they'd have to QA Matrox, Intel, S3, and any other currently shipping graphics hardware as well. The cost and time to do this might be prohibitive. So is gaming better off having GPU accelerated PhysX for one brand, or no brands? I'm a "glass half full" kind of person, I'd say we're better off with it on one brand.

I'd also note that I doubt anyone here was complaining about ATi implementing proprietary TruForm, and not helping NVIDIA users get similar curved surfaces.

It's also irrefutable that while PhysX may indeed someday be eclipsed by an open method, NVIDIA owners will benefit from PhysX till then, and continue benefitting afterwards.

You can extend that logic to "Why would anyone buy higher res monitors, faster cards capable of higher levels of AA?".

You spend money on gaming hardware to get a better, more realistic experience.
