    vista laptop, which anti virus?

My sisters new laptop arrived today with vista on it. Now what antivirus is ok for it???

Would AvG 8 be ok- have read that it does not work well on it. Only looking at the free version!

    Any help would be great!

Come on people give this man his reply, he's waited almost 40 minutes now!

Kaspersky Internet Suite for me, but you have to pay for that.

Only looking at the free ones from AVG and so on. But have read that avg 8 has some problems with vista (laptop has vista basic) So just want to know iff others have it on a vista system and if its ok.

There must be someone running avg 8 (free edition) out there that can shed some light on whether its ok for vista or not?

    i use avast! on Vista

    nice and cheap too

(for some reason i resent AVG... can't remember why though now )

but avast is low on system resource usage and picks up practically everything

    nah

i use the free version, just download it from avasts site, register on the site, install, check your email, and paste the code into avast

tis free but uses a 14month subscription... so after 14months you just go back and get another code

Re: vista laptop, which anti virus?

I recommend avast, have used avg previously. I remember avg not picking up a virus, not sure how I found out how avg wasn't picking up the virus, but I turned to avast becasue it's free, I did also use symantec norton antivirus
but after a while you have to pay for the updates.

nope, you don't pay for a code, i'm guessing it's so avast! know how much of a user base they have...

the only payable thing about avast is the business versions.. but your a home user so it doesn't apply
