    Option 1, for £18, is 40GB

Option 2, for £28, is uncapped.

    BT just finished my install

Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

We're currently with BE and get around 4Mb, we're paying £14/mo for it.. is infinity worth switching to? I don't like the idea of traffic shaping in any form :/
But the speed upgrade from 4Mb to predicted 28Mb would be very welcome...

I did exactly that. Moved from Be* I got 14 down and 1.5 up with Be*, paying 22.66 a month.

I'm not with BT, and I get 37 down and 8 up, paying 25.60 a month.

As for traffic shaping, they only shape torrent traffic. But seeing as I don't use torrents, I'm bothered by it.

Good to hear, planning on making the exact same switch soon.

Re: BT Infinity - anyone got it yet?

Apparently I would get 30.7 Mb

How accurate have the estimates been v. the actuals?

Re: BT Infinity - anyone got it yet?

My estimate was 3Mbits above what I actually got (27Mbit/s vs 24Mbit/s) for download and about two thirds out for the upload (4.5 vs 1.5) The big difference on the upload speed is apparently due to the package I'm on.

Re: BT Infinity - anyone got it yet?

I've looked and they say it will be in my area in September, The quoted speeds were 35.8Mb download
    - 9.1Mb upload. Not sure about the data cap of 40gb as I have no idea of how much I use at the moment.

It is £18 a month which is a few pennies cheaper than what I pay for Be so I could be tempted. Only downside is I might not be here in September and I doubt the new place will be getting infinity any time soon.

I'd be interested to know how stable those speeds are at various times of the day. When I was on Virgin the speed was slow after 3pm.

Re: BT Infinity - anyone got it yet?

Quidco are doing cashback on BT, and first 3 months are free on infinity. Very tempted to give it a go over 18 months, see what my usage is like, then decide wether to go for capped or not.

Re: BT Infinity - anyone got it yet?

Mine quoted 36/8 iirc I get 39/8, seems pretty good on the estimates.

That said my modem appears to be melting itself now - it's running quite hot and dropping the line a lot. Seems to be a common problem from what I've seen.
