    It's a tiny village - doesn't matter - I don't tend to download much when at home....

Nothing here either - not on the latest around of exchanges either: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/EALOW

Where I live I'm right on the limits of both exchanges which serve the town.. Hence, poopy internet.

Cable and Wireless were supposed to come into the town years ago, we even got the letters and everything.. Then they went bust..

I'm guessing probably 2013 at least before this place gets any sort of decent internet connection.

What is really annoying is that there's a sodding great multi-gigabit internet backbone fibre which goes off to Holland from here... /facepalm

Interestingly, if i switch over to my Draytek 2820n the speed drops off.. which im fairly sure is more wireless than anything else. they are set up the same, same channel and N only mode..

Have you compared the two through a wired connection?

I am easy - I don't mind - I am happy with the fact I've a decent stable DSL connection.

I only use it at weekends, I'm at the office during the week.

Yeah its OK on wired, just wireless has an issue even with the wifi settings identical channel/mode/security.
the upload suffers the most.. looking at my wifi stats, the draytek has CRC errors on almost 40% of the frames, this happens on any channel.. however the HH is much less.. and downloads can hit over 40mbit

Heres a graph showing upload results from speedtest - you can definately see which are the HH and which are the draytek

Re: BT Infinity - anyone got it yet?

A taller, narrower green cabinet appeared at the end of the road, next to the existing BT cabinet. Wonder what that's for.

Could also be a mobile phone base - is there a mast near it?

Has anyone received a letter saying Infinity is now in your area, sign up now. Then when you phone up they say its not in your area until September?
