First go, no real overclocking yet, although by getting my RAM running at it's "normal" speed of 1600MHz, my CPU is now running at 3.7GHz instead of 3.3GHz.

Total cost of mobo, CPU, RAM and GPU were £549.57 giving me a disappointing 8.3 points per pound.
Eugh! My 5850 has done so well for me, but clearly starting to show its age (if in benchmakrs more than actual games, and lets be honest its actual games that count!)
2500K running @ 4.4ghz
5850 running at 775/1100

managed to sort my overheating northbridge out (asus decided to make the heatsink not actually touch the chip itself)
So back to seeing what this rig can do new score is p7548 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1140779
amd x6 @3.8
2 x 5870 @ 890/1275
Absolute max cant get anymore out of the gfx card without a bios flash to add voltage changes

when did i drop to 9th?
Might have a suicide run later. What effect would RAM speed have on the results, say going from 1600 up to 2000MHz ?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
P7594
CPU @ 4.2GHz
GPU's @ 900/1800/3900
I'm chuffed

It doesn't have anymore to give unfortunately both GPu's are the XFX model with the newer Fan and the voltage control is locked in the bios and 890/1275 is the absolute max it will do without voltage control.
And to be fair IF i was terb running an Intel i7 cpu and being beaten by a lowly amd phenom i'd be disappointed. Seeing as AMD is supposed to be hugely inferior, The 50 points difference is not bad.
Plus i probably spent a little less than The Terb on mine too
Points per pound
Cpu £150
Mobo £80
Ram £60
Gpu's £240
total £530
14.2points per pound
Well, it seems my little humble rig only managed to muster up P3442 ... Apparently my Radeon 6870 scored a bit lower than it should (according to 3DMark).
Bloody hell... Even my lowly Athlon II x4 645 rig scored higher than that (and it's all running at stock speeds)! Yours is a 6-core 1090T @ 3.6Ghz! Somethings wrong there

I scored P3848
CPU: E8500 @ 3.16
Mem 4gb @ 1066
GPU: HD5870 @ 875 / 1225
Time for a new CPU I think.
