I've been reprocessing some shots, and having first goes at others that I've not got round to yet. Put 10 up on my flickr - here's some of the one's I find more interesting:
Film is interesting - you can do so much. It also costs so much...
Adam, when you say you are re-processing the shots, are you developing them from negatives or are you doing the re-processing digitally?
Yes that's the one. Didn't see the accident myself (was just the other side of an arete). Heard more than I wanted to of the aftermath all things considered.

You can't redevelop the negatives, and I've never been much of a guy for printing, so it's a combination of rescanning and digital stuff. Playing with scans in DNG format is interesting - I'm used to a900 RAWs which are far more 'flexible' than even your a700 ones - colours just don't posterise until you've pushed them far too far and the dynamic range is huge. Scans don't have that, when you say bring up the blacks, rather than detail coming out, the grain comes out. When you process a digital RAW, it's like you control the contours of the image, you can pop out the trees, burn in the sky. With a film scan it's like someone's laid a big piece of paper over the image and you can only make changes through that.

It was so small that mine wouldn't fit into it
thought i'd try the moon again last night, but clouds moved in and stopped play before i could get a great shot, but definitely improving
