Try using the GIMP or paint.net to resize before uploading, if your camera software doesn't do it.

Where did you take that photo from? I only ask since you're above the Lynx's. I'm not sure, but I think that's my step-dad's boat at the top of the picture (he was on the water watching the show as well).

Admit it, you didn't take that photo did you?

(off topic - not too good to be true - it's a poor quality superzoom, normally around £160 so £130 on offer is about right.)

A couple of points though, first that these are straight out of photomatix and i haven't had the chance to fiddle properly yet - i just got back with 3000 photos from Poland

Secondly sharpening is only worth it on these resolutions (due to imageshack resiszing), the full size photos are good as they are imo and you don't get that overly sharp effect on the tree line.

Yup - I took your word for them being sharp prior to resizing but it looked so muddy here I had to unsharp mask it. That said I like the noise removal in my 2nd attempt - makes it look like mist or fog and brings the foreground out more - though again that could all be down to the resize! If I had the skills I'd be trying to produce something along the lines of a mix of the sky from my 1st attempt with the rest in the 2nd (and maybe bring the foreground out a bit more if possible without ruining the image quality). All that said I still like the pic and I'm just a holiday snapper so feel free to ignore me!

    Re: Photo-a-day

I'm doing a 'stage' in France this summer. It started off pretty well, but the last 2 weeks have been dire after they ran out of work for me - I've been putting questionnaires into alphabetical order so that... they can go in a box never to be looked at again. Job satisfaction?

Luckily the company needed some photos taking for their website and brochure so I bit their arm off. Bit too hard really, they were a bit pissed that I didn't want to shuffle paper for another week, but at least I got my assignment

The third I overpowered the ambient with the flash a little bit - I've got some normal ones too but I wanted to play.

can't tell you used flash for the 2nd one, the 1st one may have a hint if you look hard enough..

agreed with the 3rd, it just screams flash when you look at it

At the moment, the platform takes all its power from onshore, the turbines are designed to replace that power need. Once the platform is de-comissioned they will feed power back to the mainland. There is also a plan to build up to 200 more in the same area.
Sorry for reply delay, off on another jaunt. Yes they were operating . I have been passed them again but could not pass the field on the East side due to weather conditions. Hopefully next time.
