Indeed, back to the piccies
Todays are a ladybird larva and a bee orchid -finally !! I've only been looking for three years for the bee ! Usual setup.
Jumping into this a bit late..
For what it's worth, I can also see some minor banding on kushti's photo in the same place as described by kushti himself, and Tim S. As I said minor, and probably a compression artefact.
On a more serious note:
If you don't know what someone's set-up is, or what their level of technical expertise or experience is, don't make arrogant assumptions about them, as it will only lead to bad feeling, and I'll have to put my Mod hat on properly.
I shouldn't have to say this but if people make others feel like they aren't welcome to comment, there will be repercussions.

Today at Peterhead
Great bee shot! That little girl has had a very successful forage!
thanks, its a learning curve from shooting 35mm and digital. i did some practice lighting shots with my cousin and his family as guinea pigs with wireless OCF and syncing 1/400 - I've learnt that the viewfinder is not WYSIWYG and will have to put some tape on the glass i think once i've worked out the boundaries
looking though the lens the feet had plenty of room at the bottom, but as you can see they were chopped off..
overall i'm very pleased with the performance of my new camera considering the price paid
the sync of 1/400 will make for some interesting OCF shots outside, so will be attempting some cool stuff with this camera in the near future

Is my bounce flash card ok or should it be bigger?
I'll tidy this up when I get home, but for now here's a quick and dirty stitch. Full size on Flickr is 6,000px wide.
I've seen a "good" location for this kind of shot at water level, but having looked on Google Streetview it seems like the sort of place where mobsters hand out concrete shoes. Not somewhere I would want to go on my own.
I'm off to Sydney for the weekend in the morning.
