kushti I had a big issue with my k20d in 400ISO or higher until a firmware update came out. Turned out that not only was the inbody conversion been bad, but there seemed to be some issues with it when the expanded sensor range was turned off. Crazy as it was in some light it did much better with the 200% d-range option turned on.

Couple of more from Ullswater. Really dull and low light hence the b&w conversion. Grainy as well - not sure where I'm going wrong in low light - ISO still low as they were all on a tripod so speed wasn't an issue.

It might be just my inexperience talking here, but I've never seen any major problems with your landscapes. It seems to me that it's easy to get sucked into overanalysing technique. IMHO, if it looks right, it's right

@rjkp. The first is a little soft, perhaps camera shake. The second needed some more direct light on the watch face to bring it out, some diffused flash or even just a bright led torch aimed at it to bring it out.

Thanks, I wish it was my window view - it's one of my favourite parts of the UK! Instead, I have to put up with the smog on the edge of London. I've got the Chilterns on my doorstep, but they're not big enough to break a sweat. Nothing gets me going more in the morning than a hike up a Scottish mountain with 25kg of gear on my back.

I've spent a lot of time in Glen Coe, so if you need any help with locations/areas to explore, give me a shout.

Cheers Tim - Going up with a local and doing Castle Kilchurn, Castle Stalker, Glencoe and Glen Etive in a sunrise to sunset tour at the end of the month. Fingers crossed for some decent weather. Although I've travelled that area loads of times I've never done it since I took up photography so really looking forward to it.
