i'd also add a touch of curves to bring out the midtones - very dark pics... oh and more prop blur pls (yes i'm an ass when it comes to prop blur )

Tricky to go below 1/200 at 400mm, that lanc was a surprise popping right out behind me too straight after the F-15 demo!

I've had that issue before with my pictures appearing dark on other monitors, but I have a couple of well calibrated dell U2410's in my office and colours are great, looks good too on my dell laptop, but very dark on a 22 inch samsung. I can really only judge by how they appear on those and since the U2410's are calibrated/supposedly have the best colour and are the most expensive I make sure they look good on those first and foremost, and in my experience going from those to print has always helped me a great deal due to their large choice of colour options and tonal reproduction.

Offhand, I went between 1/100 and 1/125 for most things during the day. The rain we had and the gradual brightening meant getting good settings was a nightmare.

I was fortunate enough to do some work at the Sénat, which is the equivalent to our Houses of Parliament.

Right from the start, the grand staircase "l'escalier d'honneur" sets the scene


Then, moving on to the Sénat's "Hemicycle". It isn't as big as the Assemblée Nationale's one, but a hell of a lot grander. A very quick (read bad!) pano:


The Reception rooms are just amazing, and you might think that the golds are a little too saturated, but I haven't emphasised them in post - they really are that much "in your face" in a very royal way This is the "salle des conférences"


I hope to get another chance to take some more photos with a better set up, but there's probably a limit to how much gear I can bring in and still look touristy enough lol! What an amazing place though, and it looks pretty awesome with the studio system we've put in

Thanks. It created some really weird lighting - it was dark enough that you needed lights on inside, yet there were light beams coming in the windows and casting shadows, as if a car was shining lights at them. A bit like living in a HDR-tonemapped photo, felt very unnatural.

Just catching up on all the pics...there are basically no duds these days, everyone is taking great shots! (or rather posting great shots, there are probably a few throw aways in the BoP shots I'd guess Bobster?)

BBMF Hurricane does a "flypast" (ahem!) at Bruntingthorpe's Cold War Jets Open Day The Spitfire was supposed to fly over as well, but he just carried on his merry way. Slapped wrist?
