Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
Tonight over my house
Nice.
If you like taking photos of balloons, I'd really recommend you join a club and do some crewing. Great fun, fantastic spirit and there's a surprisingly large amount you can photograph, not just landscapes I did loads of ballooning but haven't been up in a year now

Stavro / Chris, very nice dragonfly macro shots!
Finally finished playing around stitching my biggest ever pano. Full resolution is around 400 megapixels.
Click for bigger version (around 4MP).
That's actually the view from the new mountain house my Mum and I are finishing renovating. Can't wait to spend more time there dreaming at that view

Where is that? Looks like a peaceful area. I made a ~250Mp panorama in Auckland in June with photos taken at 500mm, but over 15 miles you tend to get rather a lot of atmospheric distortion, meaning it's about as good at 6,000 pixels wide as it is at 35,000 pixels wide.
I dropped my Sigma 50-500mm in Sydney zoo and just got around to sending it off to Sigma a couple of weeks ago. Two days later I had my flight to New Zealand confirmed for today, so I let them know and they said they'll try to get it done by then. I had a phone call yesterday saying they've fixed it but they can't adjust it without a circuit from Japan, which would take another week. I decided to have it back. It arrived first thing this morning and as far as I can tell, the focus is spot on. They said I could send it back in to Sigma when I get back and they can finish sorting out the circuit. I assume it's just for front/back focusing, which I can adjust in my 50D. It looks like all the elements have been cleaned inside.
It's South West France in the Pyrénées, in the Barétous valley. Location is here: http://g.co/maps/5pzb
Looking SouthWest.
I was lucky that this was the only day it wasn't raining. It's around 9 in the morning, and the haze was just burning off in the valleys. Pretty good visibility for that time of year though.
Have fun with your Sigma in NZ
With all the planning I did with what to bring to New Zealand for three months, I forgot to bring my rocket blower. Sod's law, I have some absolutely dire sensor dust. I'll have to go buy one later today.
I thought I'd try getting some dawn photos before I got over the jetlag. This is Rangitoto, taken from Mount Victoria in Devonport.
Edit: And this one, looking the other way.
