Haha I rarely take pictures of food, just thought why not, and the one from the summer was due to just wanting to use my camera
I didn't think about either photo really, just took a photo of the food, simple

Technically fine - focus, punchy colours etc.. Composition is almost good, you could almost do with going up 20ft to sort that one out though as there's a lot of space in the photo that's not really adding to the scene (very boring sky, patch of dull water in bottom right). Also other than a memento for you of a nice trip, I'm not quite getting a story for the shot.
I can crop it more.would that make a bog different?

Cropping is tricky because you'll cut the reflections.. worth a play though *downloads*.
edit: yeah I found two crops worked better IMHO, though cut reflections is a (minor) issue in both. First one is a sort of filmic/landscape strip so doesn't show much sky or much water. Second one is a more 4/3rds aspect ratio which pretty much just frames the crab house and the foreground speedboat.
