    Re: Photo-a-day

Nice castle shot there, have one taken from my phone from the far left wall there, its some view from it. Will be back in auld reekie on Saturday, but its a stag do thing, so camera left behind yet again, might bring it through for the festival tho.

Dave, love the steeple in the earlier 3 shots, framed by the leaves, lovely shot, the french millpond is also stunning, especially the reflection, but seems a bit busy in the IR shot, might be a contrast thing.

On a side note, ever been up to Elgin Cathedral bud? its a burnt out ruin of a building, with several walls still standing and the steeple area intact, got a few shots of it but couldnt get anything really decent, would be a cracker for your collection I think.

Only one castle shot in last couple of pages and only one in Auld Reekie, so its kinda obvious...

    Re: Photo-a-day

With exams and everything recently haven't had much time to play with the camera

Decided to take a picture of my new phone, and loved how it came out (didn't mean to focus on the reflection )
Didn't notice the couple of marks until I'd uploaded, will edit asap.

This is what my camera decided to take after a second's delay due to a full buffer. I think I might let it make the decisions in future

Hehe nice. Sounds like what happens when I'm in focus priority and my macro misses focus.

    Re: Photo-a-day

Yang and Rugger some great shots there and Melon, is that the shed where the ruler of the Universe lives ?

as for my preference, I *think* its the full colour one tbh. Don't know why, as I do love my IRs so much, but this just spoke to me in a different language

Patters, I think you have done a pretty fine job there.... I see that you've clone something out of the forehead, and applied a mask to blur the background. The cloning is OK, but the mask is a little dodgy on the hand and around the jacket I think...

    Here's a couple from me.

1- Super Macro Common Blue Damselfly Head, Tamron 90mm.

2- Pigeon, nothing special but a nice test of my new 500mm Tamron F8 mirror lens.

3- Oradour Sur Glane, a memorial village in France, where, on June 10th 1944, the Waffen SS massacred all the inhabitants in one fell swoop. Its been left pretty much as it was as a sort of "museum". Very spooky atmosphere. This is one of my IRs but IR wasn't giving it's best on the day.
