computerman: Your processing needs work, everything looks very 'flat' and dull. Technically fine shots but the lack of 'pop' makes them very bland.
so that was a straight jpeg here is one of my 1st attempt at post processing so go easy on me.

also got my lens back from sigma japan 2.5 months later, still wouldnt autofocus in live view. I bought a cheap meike ring flash, is it possible to diffuse them?

why is that the lenses fault?

defuse light? sure stick it on a light stand and throw a shoot though umbrella infront of it (kinda missing the point of using a ring flash if you do however..)

Because the lens does not autofocus in live view, which it should?! They are now gonna replace it with the newer OS model. As for diffuser Iwas wandering whether you can get the omnibouce caps so the flash doesnt look as harsh or should I just reduce the flash output?

not sure of your live autofocus abilities - in macro, set the focus to manual and bob in and out til you reach the desired point and press the shutter

Omibounce doesn't defuse light unless you're indoors (have some walls and ceiling to bounce light off of - in which case, you may as well point the flash in the direction of a wall/ceiling) - outdoors it just sucks up a stop of valuable light..

im not saying I need the af in live view and i use the viewfinder and mf mostly. The lens just doesnt feel complete without it 100% working right, plus it was supposed to be a simple quick firmware upgrade. Now they are going to swap out my lens for the newer OS version.

So how is my image editing? Have I hit the sweet spot or is it overly done?

It's very colourful, which is fine for web images, and otherwise isn't holding back your images so you can concentrate on the photo aspect again

I like the streak effect but the subject is moving out of the frame, otherwise good timing and shot.

well, difficult to get the contrails without the aircraft moving out of frame, unless i centred it in the middle of the frame.. and its not about timing, its about panning - 1/60th - aircraft probably travelling close to 360kts!
