    Good man Saracen.

Firstly, can I say I have no axe to grind with Scan in any way whatsoever.

However, I seem to have been missed out in the responses to questions so please forgive me for repeating mine below:

Do Scan ever install used parts in their new machines? "Used" includes the dubiously termed "re-mastered" hard drives that others install as "new".

I'd simply like to know what I'm getting if I become a customer.

Noted thank you. You will understand that I asked the question in the knowledge that MESH apparently do use re-mastered drives routinely in their new hardware and I was shocked when I heard this. Smelly's report of geting more than he bargained for seemed to imply the practise of re-use could be more commonplace than I'd thought.

I'm pleased to know it isn't. When I'm next in the market for a new pc, I'll come to SCAN.

"sold a hard drive wih data on from Scan"

...and all for no extra charge too

Joking aside, does microsoft prevent companies selling HDDs preinstalled with windows
(providing the user also purchases a licence)?

E.g. install microsoft standard IDE controller or use sysprep so it'll boot,
but will need activating on boot anyway.
