Well, sort of, we tried with 2 brand new Intel boards both of which were PUND and we ran out of time, so we will be re-trying tomorrow.

In the serving suggestion it shows OCZ silver RAM. Doesn't say any sort of RAM in the recipe though.

On a series note, I need to flash my bios up to F8a from F5 to check if my chip is messed up or the bios are not reading right.

Problem is I don't have anouther 775 chip at hand to update the bios only my E8400 and I can't use @BIOS (windows updater) since it says I don't have the right AWARD or something which is due to my proccessor.

I didn't have a floppy drive so I thought I was FUBARed, but turns out I can Q-FLASH through a USB drive. But the only processor I have is the E8400 and don't want to brick it since I can't find the packaging which I think you need to RMA stuff.

Think it would work to flash through Q-FLASH and a USB drive with the E8400? Anyone done it and can confirm?

    Re: e8400, query

The odds on two boards failing in the same manner must be very long indeed so it would be reasonable to suspect another cause - it wouldn't be a high temperature reading automatically shutting something down now would it

    Re: e8400, query

No we tried single core chips in them as well as standard Dual Core and Quad Cores, non of them work, so even though the odds are against us, it's not another cause, the boards were dead.

I had 3 dead hard drives that all got RMAd and certified faulty, but then I got pissed off so bought a better PSU and since then everything worked fine. My theory is 'dirty' power was causing the hard drives to write bad sectors until it failed not long after installation.

So even if they are dead it could be a duff PSU causing it.
