Scan's new website layout

Guys - We are noticing similar points, repeatedly being raised - We understand the fact the thread is large and as we don't expect you to read the whole thread before you post.

So we have listed sumarised all of the feedback we have received as below, so please take note of this list before posting your feedback to prevent further duplications and to keep any new points raised easily viewable.

Positive Feedback
Nice clean design
Quick add to the basket


Constructive Feedback
Server load times
Errors when loading/searching - time out system
Order History - can view the list of orders, but not the individual order details.
Breadcrumb trail doesn't work
Drop shadows are too soft (and suddenly cut off leaving a hard edge), tabs are shadowless
Icon shadows are inconsistent
Icons on the right menu should be on the left of the menu, not the right
Dtyle of the site is in conflict with itself
Hovering over a product header no longer brings up a sub menu (loved that)
No today only tab
Sort by Manufacturer (WIP)
Option for Site not to SAVE CARD INFORMATION
Delivery ETA page required
No option to save basket on the website

Really slow for me right now, although that might have more to do with the dodgy satellite internet link i'm using here than the Scan servers.

We have launched the NEW SITE AT 9 AM.

WE WILL BE MAKING TWEAKS THROUGHOUT THE DAY

Of course this is a brand new site, so we expect there to be some issues, which will be ironed out as we come across them.

We appreciate any feedback from the members of the HEXUS community.

Please raise any feedback constructively and for any issues please explain the issue clearly in your post or you can PM one the MODS.

Any issues will be placed on a "to do" list and we will prioritise them accordingly, once logged please be patient to allow us to implement the changes.

A lot of time, care and consideration has been put into the new site and we hope you all enjoy our creation ...

Sugestion No. 1:

Can you define the image sizes for the thumbnails in product listing please? and in fact everywhere that you know the image dimensions. It's a pain when they are taking a minute to load and the whole page rendering it knocked out of whack.

This is a personal bug bear with most sites. Specifying the image sizes used to be considdered best practise.

took 5 mins tho

it does look a bit bad on a 15" college monitor cos everything seems to be quite large...

there seems to be lots of whitespace aswell

and i see that the heXus news thing has disapeared..(or i'm just blind)

i like the new basket (the quick add)

Try holding Ctrl and scrolling your mouse wheel down, you probably know that already but just incase you forgot
