I got one today. The only tempting thing (I'm ashamed to say there is even one), is the dell 2709WFP.. with the voucher it's less than £400 which I'm pretty sure is cheaper than anywhere

I'm very tempted as I have a 10% voucher and the free del.

Planning to buy a whole new rig include the monitor, spending 7-900 squid.

I have seen people mention that their prices have gone up a bit since that free del offer tho

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

Lots of people have seemed to have problems with this company i ordered from them ddr2 when it first came out my first every pc build not knowing they wouldnt fit in ddr i had opened them to try fit them in, didnt work didnt even damage the pack asked if i could exchange for some ddr1 ram and they wouldnt let me it took me a couple of months talking to different people and i finally got it exchanged, the pricing is competitive but if you look around you generally find cheaper, but they can be good for certain items, this encounter was awhile ago they could be better not but im not sure. I didnt get an email :/

I do order fro them when it is an emergency. Otherwise Scan and Ebuyer get my business.

OcUK do come out with big lies though!! Always quoting to have the cheapest stuff in the UK when you can see that some of the items can be had cheaper elsewhere!

Plus they are too afraid to let Forum members say anything bad about the shop or even discuss shop matters.

This seems to have changed recently, and there has been a couple of times where ocuk have been criticised openly on the forums and some of the dons have responded and resolved the matters on the forums without banning people.

Ocuk are saying they are changing, maybe they are?

Hope so. Some of the mods / dons are just little kids with big egos!

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

Well I got a welcome back offer email and being the trusing person I am decided to give OcUK another chance after a horrible experience a few years ago. Read about it here if you are interested:

    http://trust.hexus.net/user_profile.php?user=3075

Ordered approx £280 worth of stuff after 10% discount and it arrived on time Fri, just right for me to build over the bank holiday weekend. Inventory check revealed OcUK had sent the wrong motherboard (a model issued early 2007). Frustrating, but I thought this does give OcUK the opportunity to demonstrate customer service has improved.

Looked at the OcUK web forms and didn't fancy the RMA and thought the customer service complaint web form looked more suited to my problem. I asked OcUK to arrange a swap out or send correct motherboard at same time other was returned. No chance, received a reply I had to go through RMA, which entails waiting for them to collect, booking it in for checking and then sending correct motherboard. Effectively adding another weeks delay. OcUK made the mistake but has transferred the inconvenience to me.

So I have ordered the motheboard from Dabs for delivery Thu and told OcUK to refund the cost of my motherboard once it had been processed. Wonder how long I'll have to wait for the refund?

OcUK have no idea about customer service, obviously can't be ars@d to find an equitable solution. Nope just chuck it at the RMA guy, the customer can go and whistle in the wind. I will definately not be using OcUK again, not because of the mistake, but because of the way OcUK customer service has handled resolving it.

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

Further update despite agreeing a refund OcUK sent a RMA email stating Desired action:replace", when in fact I requested and agreed with OcUK that I would receive a full refund for the motherboard as I was not prepared to wait a further week to receive the correct mobo.

I have since purchased the motherboard from Dabs and will receive tomorrow.

Meanwhile OcUK did not arrange collection today as they had promised.

They really are a company to deal with, can't believe I got sucked in again. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

Well this sounds like a lesson we should all take on board, looks like Dabs and Scan for me then to build my new system later on this week.

Though it does seem to show that even after agreeing on a refund that the internal communication within this company would either deliberately cause more problems or just don't have a clue what they’re doing.

Lucky escape for me would be a good starting place of overclockers ....... though Google beta test stuff for ages and that works

Thats because they havent all been banned yet...

I was a happy OcUk customer and a big forum poster (1k+ posts) - Never had a problem.

One day i had to return something and what a disaster that was. So i posted on the forums saying how pathetic the returns were as well as requesting an admin to give me an update on what was happening.

Next day my ip was banned and account closed - They did that in a heartbeat to one of there top posters/contributors.

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

The comments about the ocuk customer service is starting to make me regret spending £450 from then on most of my computer parts, even with the 10% off is the £50 odd quid I saved worth the hassle?

Well I should find out today as my parts should arrive from city link.

I did buy a PSU and heat sink from scan though so I should be find if the PSU ever goes bork!.

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

Unfortunately the 10% off code I was sent has expired.

They would have had a better chance of getting me to return as a customer if the offer had lasted longer, I'm wasn't looking to buy any computer hardware over the last month, although those 24" PVA monitors were tempting (at £135 'B' grade and £200 new) they've put the price up on them!

If OcUK sent me another code, made the expiry time longer and had something I wanted to buy at a price I was willing to pay they might get me back as a customer...

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

Lol, what's with OcUK's 'This week only' nonsense?

I happened to note down last week, and saw again this week, the price of the His 4850 IceQ4 Turbo as I was toying with the idea (but have since changed my mind).

Pre 'this week only' price £135.11

Guess what, the 'this week only' price is, yup, £135.11

    So, what is the point?
