Well you should always keep the receipt you can't blame them on that part I'd say because otherwise they can't see how much it cost.

Have to agree here, though at a long shot the post office should be able to provide you with a “copy” receipt. This would probably cost more than the postage refund to get hold of

I do blame OcUK. I only paid to send it back because OcUK failed to collect the parcel on three separate occasions. I advised them in advance that the cost of special delivery would be £7.75 and asked for and received assurances in advance that they would refund £7.75. The assurance I got was by email and stated "there will be no problem".

The requirement to provide a receipt with the value on it, only cropped up afterwards. I did get a receipt for the special delivery from the post office unfortunately it does not have the price on it. The price is on the special delivery sticker that was attached to the parcel I returned.

It obviously cost me money to return the item to them and it is stupid of them to now refuse to refund the cost of postage because I can't provide a receipt with a value on it. Do they think it cost me nothing to send it back??

They have reneged on an agreement to refund my postage pure and simple. They have not kept to their word. A thoroughly disreputable company to deal with.

Guess you should never rely on a retailers word unless you really trust them (Scan, eBuyer, K-Force etc)

Now you've been burnt (2nd time I believe?) you should stay away and let others know. Nothing more you can do it would seem.

That's my attitude, I must admit.

There's an old adage that says "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".

If I've been treated in a way I regard as unfair or unreasonable once by a supplier, I don't give them a chance to do it to me a second time.

There's also an old adage that says "Everybody deserves a second chance." The 10% email welcome back offer swayed me into giving them that second chance. I certainly won't be giving them any more chances!!!!

OcUK = Appalling customer service, inconvience to it's customers costing both time and money when things go wrong.

    Looks like it

Can't blame em with OcUK tempting them, then they'll keep going back until they get bitten. The day OcUK changes is when they have new management or a new owner, but even after that the name is still tainted with "**** customer support".

Yes they would need a new name or/and at least a very expensive ad campaign showing how they have changed for the "better "

Blimey. If I was to apply that adage I'd only be able to order from Kustom PC's, Chill Blast & 'gulp' Dabs. Can't understand it with Dabs, but they've never let me down. Am I unique?

All the others, mostly, have let me down, including Scan & OCUK.

I really wish I could buy in the High Street. I've been buying online for over ten years now but it still makes me nervous, to be at the mercy of some ignorant rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish on the end of the phone who is underpaid and has an attitude.

No DSR on the high street, plus would be higher prices to cover costs of running a store. Having a retailer to tailor for everyone in the country yields lower prices no? But if you're a system builder or want your stuff quick then I suppose it would be better. The only problem is all the good retailers are up north so if you want it to be like popping down to the high street you better get moving

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

I have been shopping at OCUK for several years and had to RMA a motherboard and PSU.

The motherboard took like 8 weeks to replace, for the PSU I requested a refund and bought another one. Several weeks later I recieve a replacement.

I am not keen on their RMA process at all, but they do occasionally have geat deals on their this week onlys, and they stock an awful lot of products that Scan and other E tailers dont (We only stock Corsair Ram lol).

Their product range is the best available, unfortunately their RMA is one of the worst. Quite a lot of items I have bought from them, particularly ram and graphics cards have been cheaper then anywhere else.

Yes, a very strange one that, it's not like Scan sell Corsair for much cheaper than anywhere else.... their "special arrangement" with Corsair must simply increase their own margins.... not that I'd buy from Scan either.

Re: Overclockers UK Welcome back offer

I must be in a very small minority, because I've not hadd to many issues with them at all. I think the longest they kept me hanging about was for a strip of ram that was part of a matched pair that died and took a motherboard out with at the time. I think I was waiting for about 2 weeks for them to sort it out.

Also when I bought a 6800 GT from them that turned up with a busted cap, e-mailed them told them I didn't want the card because of this, I was given a refund and was told to keep the card !! I got it repaired and it worked so had a free upgrade.

But reading these current storries is making me think twice about using them again. Think I'll stick with Aria, prices are alot cheaper at the moment.

It's silly because if they did alot more people would be buying from them = more profit. Ebuyer don't have a better range (than OcUK) but they try and they have Crucial, Corsair, OCZ and Kingston. I guess if you want your Geil, GSkill or Cellshock you'll have to go elsewhere.
