    Re: windows 7 pre order

Can we assume the price will be the same no matter where we order from? /penny-pinching

    Re: windows 7 pre order

Seems to imply it will be a full version license as well:

"We recommend that you experience Windows 7 on a new PC." And no mention in the requirements of having a previous version of windows.

Now.. do I go professional or home?

    edit: but then..

"To be eligible for the offer, you need to be running a genuine copy of the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems. "
    gah.

    gah.
That's for the US upgrade license. I doubt it's an OEM license with all the marketing it's getting.

It's on the UK specific FAQ.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. The prices are widely known, so anywhere selling for more than that won't get the business.

There's only one license for the UK AFAIK - I can't see it being upgrade-only. Maybe that was copy-pasted from the US FAQ or something.

You'd have to ask eBuyer that.

Littlewoods on the list... currently 8% cashback with Quidco, making the pre-ordered W7 Home Premium around £45.99 if it's still 8% when July 15th comes round.

Gah, I don't want an "E" version. Also, will Scan be taking part?

    Re: windows 7 pre order

Not sure if i've read pre-order details correctly..

On one one hand it says..
"We recommend that you experience Windows 7 on a new PC."

and on the other hand it says..
"To be eligible for the offer, you need to be running a genuine copy of the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems. "

So say i have a legitimate copy of Windows XP on my laptop i would be eligible to pre-order for my desktop PC?

Is the legitimate copy retail and do you have another OS that can go onto your laptop? If so, yes, if not, then no.
