Just burn it to a CD then.

as i possibly said before, thats my virus plan, keep all work on external media (usb sticks etc) then when ever i get a virus just re install windows
What about when the virus transmits itself to your USB sticks with work on?

you dont plug the usb stick in when you know something is fishy..

also going to start and running msconfig and removing all the useless stuff from booting up also does wonders on virus removing

    Re: windows 7 pre order

You don't always know when you have a virus. Please don't say you don't run AV 'because you would know when you had one' - some viruses, well most new viruses don't want you to know they are there - they hide on your PC so they can steal data etc. I'm sure most of the people on this forum would have an idea if they had a virus/how to avoid them in the first place but most of us still run AV - it's best to have multiple layers of security.

    Re: windows 7 pre order

Home at £50 is certainly fairly tempting, particularly if we can quidco it from various places. What's the betting Microsoft Store exclude Windows 7 Pre-order from the quidco scheme?

just if i was going to whats the best free one to run? i love kaspersky but its not free and students arent very rich these days

That's really quite often! What are you doing - using pirated software or something?

just if i was going to whats the best free one to run? i love kaspersky but its not free and students arent very rich these days
AVG, AVAST and probably others have free to use versions.

I'm very tempted by the Home Premium at £50.00. Must give the RC a play sometime.

Don't be fooled by the size of the case though, I have a few older PC games consisting of 3 CDs and they all fit into one DVD-size case, stacked together.

I thought that there was no special offer for UK users and that it only applied to US orders... there was something about them doing a special low price for all of europe *shrugs*...

Yeah there is a special offer for UK users - as stated we get it for 50 notes if you preorder it from a participating retailer.

What was the point in that, other than post-boosting?
