Ok boy and girls it time to talk about this cool toy Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor.
Electroline EDA-4G. I didn't know if I should expect any difference but ciregnol had a good experience with an amplifier. To my surprise it made quite a bit of difference. The picture is as soft as it was before, but there is a lot less digital noise. I had the occasional ghost and a bit of grain that has now been eliminated.Originally Posted by SHSPVR

Now that's something I would be more interested in. I'm not to worried about watching TV on my comp.. so this is what I'd actually could use... now I'm going to have to research this product before buying .. hopefully I don't find a thread on a forum this long about it... ...Originally Posted by SHSPVR

ive been looking at the sapphire theatrix as a good capture card for MPEG-2, because of its nice filtering capabilities. I have a bunch of VHS tapes and Laserdiscs that i want to transfer to DVD. I bought a full frame time base corrector to eliminate macrovision from the vhs tapes, and to stabalize the video so the MPEG-2 encoder chip can do its job easier. I have read on other forums about how completely ****ty the bundled software with the theater 550 pro capture cards is, and how it doesnt give you fine control over the quality of the MPEG-2 compression nor the filters built into the card, and the way it is captured. My question is this: Will the GBPVR software allow me to make usable MPEG-2 files (.mp2 or .vob, or even .avi), so that i can use DVD authoring software to make DVDs with? also, is anyone else buying the theater 550 pro for this purpose? can you do .avi captures as well with a huffYUV or MPJEG codec installed?
cancelled my overclockers order and re ordered from OVERCLOCK !!! new stock in today should get by thursday!!!! wiv any luck!!
Yes, you can capture to Huffyuv, and GB-PVR gives you fine bitrate control
I donot know if any body else posted this link over here before......
Here is an interesting comparison of all the three hardware
MPEG2 Tuners, the 150, 550 and NVTV:::
http://techreport.com/reviews/2005q2...o/index.x?pg=1
Surprisingly they rated the NVTV as the best in image quality.
150 and 550 come very close in many aspects.

Did you read Anandtech's review?
That techreport review didn't even compare the tv tuner image quality of these tv tuner cards... pure genius. All they did was compared image quality of a DVD input from an xbox.Originally Posted by digitalravi

In Anandtech's comparison, they rated 550 as best, but from the
images in those webpages, I feel the 150 has a brighter picture than
the 550. And I also see no difference in the way text appears on
150 and 550. But they rated 550 better....! Both 150 and 550 have
equal amount of distortion in the text, from those images.
