[QUOTE=streetster;1249258]try the 169.01 beta ones
cheers dude
my 880gts 320mb was running it at med only well - now I can run with only 2 settings not on high
I loved it, I see Far Cry as a B-Movie Game (the little cutscenes of the Trigens for example, remind me of B-Movie horror films). Then there is Crysis, a Hollywood Blockbuster - finding Aztec's corpse like something out of predator; it's stunning and very immersive.
I played on Delta difficulty, and it is definitely more fun imo. You have to plan your attack or you WILL die.
The FPS isn't too bad either, 1280x1024, 4x AF 0x AA, always between 28 and 45 FPS with all on high except post processing; which is very playable.
One gripe I have is, in DX10 on High, I get roughly the same FPS as in DX9, however I seem to have a bug where by there is input lag on movement - mouse look is fine but shooting and moving seems to have a delay on it, no idea why. It happens at all quality settings - even on Low where i'm getting 70-80fps or so. Also noticed that in DX10 post processing on High doesn't impact FPS as much as post processing on High in DX9, so I actually end up with more fps in DX10 with everything set to high - very high is not playable, however .
Is there any way to run a built in benchmark? I found files called "CPU Benchmark" "GPU Benchmark" in the Crysis demo dir.

Screw the NDA Nick tell me more lol
But i think it may turn some people away, it also brings the issues to Crytek, Nvidia/Ati quicker, that way the final release can be slightly more stable then it would have been, we all know BETA testers are useless and never find anything normal people encounter.
I thoroughly enjoyed the demo and didn't encounter any consistent glitches. Currently running without any noticeable lag at 1024x784 on medium. I will attempt to get some fraps data soon. Having seen the game on a 8800 earlier in the day I can see what I'm missing but overall I'm relieved Crytek managed to support ageing Sm2 cards. Admittedly the game play isn't revolutionary - but the suit adds extra dimensions and I hold high hopes for some decent flying - helicopters or one of those jets that regulary passes over head would be nice
It's an FPS game, but i'd say it's done well in conceiving new features. Destroyable foliage that enemies use as cover, real time weapon modding, vehicle component damage, day/night cycles, and of course the suit. Crysis pushes forward these things in a way that differentiates it from other shooters.
Again, i don't know what people were expecting from this game that would make it completely original.
p.s. If you open up the sandbox editor, you can spawn helicopters and give them a test fly!!
Yeah and the choppers handle great. Far better than the likes of BF2 etc. Also tanks and AA are awesome for destroying the scenery and that's before we even get to the hand-held nuke launcher.
Gotta love Sandbox
They seem to be more suited to shooting rather than flying, makes for great strafing runs, cant wait to try it out in multiplayer. Vertical attacks are great fun.
For smashing tree's it's gotta be the tank, drives through everything
ANyone seen this thread? DX 10 Features in Windows XP - MUST SEE
it makes it look even more beautiful! and as far i could see it didn't impact my frame rate too much...

Crysis has gone gold now, so lets hope they sorted the fps issues!!!
Ive hopefully sorted mine by ordering an 8800GT
I was playing with that earlier, dumped my Humvee and walked because it was so pretty
